Merlin687
I have a 8GB Ram, 2GB Nvidia mx230 GPU(+ igpu iris Xe), 11th Gen and i5 processor... Still when I run GTA V, FPS is always down... When the charachter is not moving it's around 30 & while driving or on any mission it starts goin haywire 11 - 15 (fps)... I've done most of the changes there are to reduce the load on GPU and when in settings It shows that 1051/2048 mb of GPU is used... Still the Lag and FPS Drop isn't improving ... (Also my GPU heats upto 75 Celsius is it okay?) Some help with fixing this issues if they can be fixed Edited April 26, 2021 by Merlin687

Rotorhead359
GTA V is a very demanding game on laptops. Set all your Graphics quality settings and sliders at lowest, and set all Advanced Graphics off. Maybe lower the resolution as well. If all that doesn't help enough, there is one more setting outside of the game, to turn off all shadows. Go to Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\, open Settings.xml in notepad, find ShadowQuality and set its value to 0. (lowest setting in-game will set it at 1) If that still doesn't help, you may be limited by your CPU's performance. which 11th gen intel i5 do you have exactly? it should say intel i5-11... something when you look up your system specs. Performance in highly populated sessions always suffers because the game needs to keep track of all other players. The only solution would be finding sessions with less players in them. MechanicMammal
75 Celsius is perfectly normal for a laptop GPU, I expect your frame issues can be resolved by adjusting your settings as Airwolf has already mentioned. Set to 720p, use DX 10, And in the Nvidia settings make sure the game is set to use the high performance graphics adaptor. But it looks like you are within playable spec so you should be able to get it to work. And looking at benchmarks for a system like yours it seems like you should be able to play at 1080p med. Even 7 years after release it still is a more demanding game than a lot of much newer AAA games. Rotorhead359
BigGoldberg
A very low-grade graphics card. Sorry, bro. Need to change the notebook.
xutoq
I'd recommend turning down the resolution. You should also turn down the graphics settings to the lowest. 8 GB's of ram is about enough, if you keep apps open when you play GTA, I'd recommend you close those apps so you have enough ram. Other than that, you could go onto youtube and find a optimization pack. Have a nice day, Xutoq/Solar
