How did so much change in Liberty City within 3 years? The city was so nice in 1998 and became such a sh*thole by 2001. - Portland alone goes from looking like the nice parts of Brooklyn to looking like a Rust Belt city. 

 

RDR2 had kind of the same thing, where the RDR1 portion of the map in the Epilogue (which takes place in 1907) changed a lot by RDR1 (which takes place just four years later).

 

I guess it can be attributed to all the sh*t that Toni caused. I mean, he blows up an entire neighborhood.

 

Besides the map, the people of LC also changed a lot within this time frame.

 

Toni Cipriani goes from a 30 year old fit mob enforcer to a 50 year old fat capo in 3 years. The weight gain can be attributed to him giving into his mother, but the aging?

 

Donald Love, the obvious one, dude goes from a flamboyant psychopath who eats people to a rock solid straight businessman.

 

I find it hilarious to be honest.

 

I also find it strange how a game ABOUT the Leone's left out Luigi and Joey!!!

Remember Donald Love left the city and went somewhere. Where he went we don't know but that probably explains how he changed in III.

 

In my headcanon he went to some place where he met the oriental gentleman and he taught him some things and he became more serious after that.

Toni is definitely way older than 30 in LCS.

 

And Donald Love was always a cannibal, the mission that introduces the character in III, Ray's 'Evidence Dash' has you stealing evidence of one of his morgue parties. He just started training with the old oriental gentleman and got better at hiding his insanity.
