The thing is, mine is English Dave's former Weevil and I decided to leave the paint untouched to pay tribute to him since he has grown onto me, so yeah I didn't customize it aesthetically. Pull up an image of his bug and it's mine with performance upgrades installed. I think English Dave had me beat on this one. 😅

@Lonely-Martin yeah I get that the Oppressor appeals to kids. I’m not a fan of it. But the fact is it exists and others use it. And here’s the point. GTA is no longer a game for normal cars, whether we like it or not. I personally wish militarisation of the game hadn’t escalated to the point where that’s the case, but it has. The map is already so big you need a flight capable vehicle to get around. When you have to be on the ground, you need something armed and armoured. Anything not armed and armoured isn’t useful anymore. Sure I liked the Herbie movies growing up too. But cute has no place in GTA. Cute is the griefers breakfast. Are you going to do Doomsday Act III set ups in a VW Beetle?

Still I think you might actually have made a good case for why the Manchez should be on the podium, not the Sparrow. It’s undeniably one of the most useful aircraft in the game, but it is basically an upgraded Buzzard. You can do CP pretty quick without one, it’s just not as convenient as you have to be careful with your parking. Anyone who has done CP however will know there is no good way to do Intel gathering or the finale without the Manchez. It has no alternative. All the other vehicles are slow and have dreadful handling, the whole thing would take longer and be a good deal more frustrating. Given CP is such a good money earner, that’s a big deal.

That said, while I can justify it being third, not second, because it has no use outside the heist, and it would still be good $ per hour without it, probably on a par with the Casino instead of miles ahead of it I reckon.

Oh man, you and me both share the disappointment of what freemode has become and how it's hard work in regular cars/vehicles all too often, often suicide to use anything other than weaponised stuff in populated lobbies these days. It's a real shame what that part of the game has become.

I myself haven't been in a populated public properly for a good few years now, sometimes I'll land there after jobs and just sit on passive as I listen in and await on call adventures, but not actually playing the game out there. I miss the earlier days where it was the odd tank or jet to dodge or outrun while having a bounty on me but now there's just too much, it's not for me and I get my PvP kicks from elsewhere where I'm in more control of these things.

Invite only, and to an extent, solo public truly saved this game for me. I long gave up on businesses (aside the occasional nightclub sale in a solo) and these last 2 heist updates (and other content like Arena etc) really brought this game back to me and how I play, to the point I can't help but give R* praise there for allowing the flexibility on these newer DLC. (And don't get me started on RDRO's limitations of these freedoms, grrr).

That's why, in my game, there is room for cute and/or keeping it to simple cars/vehicles. Honestly I only use helicopters or weaponised toys on occasion as I'd sooner blast around in my Hellfire on jobs. Sure, using Herbie on some Doomsday setups would be hard work, but I do use it/a variety of my collection on jobs like that weather with my lad, mates, or randoms. Too many times I've been in something 'crap' like my Go-Go Blista and been more efficient on a job than the randoms with all the hot tools, lol. I get alot of fun off that TBH.

Totally agree about the Manchez here though, it's so nippy for getting about the island for scoping and beyond, plus it's wheelie ability makes for a good laugh in general when messing about or what-not. But yeah, time for the top 2 to duke it out now. :)

Heheh. 😛

I like the Manchez Scout. A vehicle that is effective in Cayo Perico no matter what you're doing, the fastest motorbike in the game without a rocket booster taped to its arse and an intriguing ability to turn while wheelie-ing makes this vehicle quite fun to use, and it being really cheap is a massive boon as well.

The Toreador... I still think its an overrated vehicle, but we'll have to see in due time.

Ok let’s have a look at this.

The Toreador is a fine addition to the garage. It has some unique attributes that make it incredibly useful. Armoured, submersible, seats 4, unlimited missiles, and can be used in heist set ups. It’s been very useful to me when I was looking to get my rank to the latest milestone.

However, whilst it would be a worthy second, it can’t even be put in the same league as the Kosatka - very little in the game can.

Obviously with no Kosatka you have no CP heist. And that alone makes it a winner. It’s transformed the games economy to the point where grinding for hours on end doing potentially risky business sales is never needed again. And even if you personally don’t like heists, it has to be acknowledged this has enabled countless new players get off the mark (I have helped several who couldn’t initially afford their own Kosatka) to the point where they are no longer the broom stick riders easy lunch. The Torreador cannot claim to have this impact on the wider player base. Not much can.

I can already hear the cries of “the game is a foregone conclusion if you included the heist”. Maybe the Kosatka shouldn’t have been in the elimination game, because if people vote rationally it shouldn’t be a fair contest. But it is in the game. And if you don’t buy it, you can’t launch your own heist.

But even beyond the heist, I was pleasantly surprised by the Kosatka.

Pavel is a legend, his dry sense of humour so much better than the clownery of Bogdan.

Then you have the guided missiles. When I first heard about them I thought it would be doubtful whether anyone could step out of a building again without being hit by one. However, it’s not a popular weapon with griefers, I think they lack the patience with the cool down. But it is an incredibly good anti-troll weapon when you realise you don’t need a direct hit on the jet or broomstick, just exit the camera near it. It’s incredibly fun to use too, it reminds me of the iconic Tomorrow Never Dies opening. And it really annoys the downed griefer who was rippping up the lobby when the are unexpectedly taken out.

Fast travel for 2k is also a hugely underrated feature.

Then you have all the little extras. Spawn point, free snacks, RPG spawn, scuba gear, stores vehicles, great periscope missiles. This thing is absolutely immense.

There are possibly only two purchases that sit in the same league, the high end apartment, and the facility. They also unlock heist content, but also certain achievements/trophies aren’t unlockable without them, which you could try to argue could place them in a similar bracket.

But as for this list, trying to compare anything to the Kosatka just doesn’t work.

Will anyone actually listen to, much less be persuaded by a compelling argument to change their vote though? I’ll get my coat..,

I have no doubt about the standout vehicle from this update. If Rockstar allowed us to use our yachts and actually sail them, moor them at piers, fire land-based missiles and store useful personalized vehicles in them, it would be a game changer, plus the ability to launch extremely lucrative heists? Yes, it's called the Kosatka.

However, this is an elimination game, not a popularity vote.

My points above have nothing to do with popularity, and everything to do with being objective.  Unless you mean the elimination game is all about voting for stuff on a whim with no substance behind your choice whatsoever?

That's a bit unfair, but partially, as having fun and not worrying about the 2 vs 1 bias is the main point of the game. People on the other side of the internet can be... well, and GTA provokes that even more, which is why negative voting outweighs logical rationale and is so appealing to many.

The best two vehicles are the top two and I have given up trying to engineer the result, and so should you.

Ok, my intention is not to be harsh here per se, but I find this interesting sociologically and psychologically. People often will not be swayed from a choice they lock themselves into, even when faced with overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Then excuses come out: it’s just a game, it’s just fun, it doesn’t matter, etc. There are a few exceptions but most people will simply not change their mind even in the face of overwhelming evidence there is a more compelling choice. This may be a game but I think it is indicative of wider human traits.

Holy f*ck, Dr. Phil. You are taking this sh*t far too serious.

Some people don’t like a helicopter and do like a goofy little car. Big deal.

Sone people like the submarine car more than another grind tool. Again, big deal.

Pretty sure I’m not the only one to vote just to see you cry about it but it’s getting a little out there now.

Substance shouldn't matter in the first place. It literally says this in the rules section of the game:

"You add one point (+1) to your favorite Vehicle and subtract two points (-2) which you can split (-1) (-1) for your least favorite(s)."

The Weevil is my favorite car in this DLC. I just love the look and feel of the car. It has quirks, charm, character, and fun. Let's say it was Weevil vs Kosatka in the Final Two. Is the Kosatka more useful from a grinding perspective? Yes. Would I still vote for the Weevil despite all the Kosatka's practicality? Yes because I like the Weevil more.
