Did he though? Because he was in Better Call Saul.

That was AFTER V. People can't read. He's said in interviews that he was done with acting before he was cast in V he took a break to build a house and you can see it in his resume after 2003 he had no acting credits for five years and even then he was not a big name he had small time appearances in shows and was in a lot of terrible indie films that no one cared about.

It's funny that since 2013 we have had the same GTA 5 three times now and we have had 3 Watch dogs in the same time frame. Whoever wrote two months are enough must be punching the air right now

This is getting tiring, even "new leaks" are tiring as well now.

Unpopular opinion:

People who thinks that "a 10+ year gap between GTA V and GTA VI it's normal, because they worked on RDR2" forget that R* isn't a single studio - it's a whole branch of multiple studios across the globe.
And that's why we saw a new R* game every year back in 2000's, because every studio works on separate game projects.

Yes it's pretty unpopular because all available resources of Rockstar were working on RDR2 and look what they've managed to done for you, the player.

Unironically one of the best open world games I've played. And SF is absolutely beautiful and the ScoutX "collectibles" just really emphasize the detail.

Then we don't see GTA VI/Trilogy Remake/whatever the f*ck R* doing until 2023/2024, because they just start to work on it.

That recent upcoming job recruiting info about media sources may mean not online sources, but newspapers and TV broadcasts as well.

Probably our actions could find their reflections in media, like in papers we could buy, or TV news we could watch. Street shootouts,

smuggling, drug traffic actions.  Something what would get covered like the COPS show.

well 80% of us think that it will be released in 2023-2024 (not including the delay that will probably happen)

we're not in the 2000's anymore, games demand a more complex and bigger development cicle, and you can't make a RDR2 in one year by just one studio.

In all fairness, games make 100x more profit now compared to back then too, i don't think it's always as easy as just hiring more people but for f*cks sake if it takes 7-10 years to knock out a new GTA, for f*cks sake hire more people!!! 😂

It is not a question of number of employees, Rockstar have a good amount of talented employees, the question is the size of their projects. Games like RDR2 are so incredibly big and detailed that you can't rush it just by hiring 1 million people, you need good people and time.

If GTA 6 gets released in 2023, than it will be 5 years since RDR2, which is fine (just look at the time that Naughty Dog took from Uncharted 4 to TLOU2, which are smaller games in scale and were produced in a pre-covid era)

I agree.
RDR2 budget was 260 M. GTA alone has made 6 billion.
Could they hire more people? Yes, they could.
Do they want? No, they dont.
I don't think the gap is just a matter of how long does it take to make it . It is also about the how long the previous title can live (aka how long you can milk the cow without bleeding its tits)

They could double their amount of employees and just work on two games at once, so we'd get a Rockstar game every 2-3 years of the same quality

I would rather have them split their staffs into 2-3 big teams (500 staffs each), and each worked on separate projects that will be released in cycle, like the three studios behind Call of Duty games.

You guys don't realize how hard is to double the amout of employees while maintaining the directions and quality of the piece, don't you?

Yes, we would get more games. But in the same quality? Probably not.

It's easier for Rockstar to buy studios than to double the amount of employees (just like they've done with Ruffian Games). And even with that, the process of buying a studio is not even close of being a easy task.

At the current pace, we'll have 2 (to be more accurate, less than 2) by decade.

That's literally Ubisoft.

And also, Call of Duty is a great example of how that development strategy doesn't work. Annnd let's remind that RDR2 had 3000 people working on it and it took 3 years of pre development + 5 years of full-time development for Rockstar to produce it.

If we assume that this console gen will last till 2027 and VI will release sometime in Q4 2023 then chances are that VI will be the only new R* game ( not remake/ remaster/ E&E ) for this gen. Maybe they can squeeze out another one If their next game will be less ambitious than RDR and GTA or will end up cross gen like GTA V.

Still hard to think they went an entire console generation without a new GTA game. I'm greatful Red Dead fans got RDR2.

Online sandbox game is the future. If well done and popular you can milk this 10 years +. R* showing how it´s done. They were able to learn a lot from GTA Online. The next GTA Online (GTA 6) will focus on Online even more and have a life spawn of min. 10 years and a cycle on two consoles.

The future of gaming is uncertain, games tend to become more and more complex by the evolution of technology, but that will demand more and more time to the development process aswell. Unless the development of the A.I gets so advanced that some basic coding works can be done it by it, we will see the quality of the games stagnate at some point, but that's just what I think with the things that I've learn from the industry.

With Rockstar releasing E&E it wouldn't surprise me if Bethesda announced Skyrim PS5 edition.
