Lol when they drop Vi you should REALLY forget about Vii for at least a decade.

I just hope Vi has enough juice to keep me occupied like V did.

At least we'll have RDR3 in the meantime and this time we're also prepared to wait that long!

Rule #1, when it comes to Rockstar Games. Never set expectations, like that :kekw:

To anyone who thinks Rockstar is taking way too much time on GTAVI, you really have to consider just how enormous of a project Red Dead Redemption 2 was. The fact that we haven't seen them release anything really huge in last 3 years is all the proof you need to realize what they are actually doing right now.

Rocksteady hasn't made a single game since 2015's Arkham Knight, except that Batman VR game, and now Suicide Squad is possibly delayed to 2023 and I don't think it'll be the first game slated for 2022 to be delayed into 2023. Even if VI's full production started by 2017-'18 in some form, I'm afraid a 2023 release is just not possible unless you want a broken, unfinished mess, especially with how world has been for last couple of years.

The harsh reality of modern AAA games. They just take so damn long to make.

I know it's set for 2022, but everything gets delayed.

if for a "port" announced in 2020 it is already difficult to launch, imagine a new game or a RDO new content.

Are people still working from home in America? or COVID-19 still a mess in there? tbh I’d like to know some info about GTA 6 this year but after 2 years of COVID-19 I’m starting to think that we won’t see any true next gen game until 2025-2026, with people still working from home and the mess COVID has done and how games making cost these days, I really think we should expect at least an announcement 2022-2023 not just rockstar, even those companies like naughty dog, insomic, and so on. I’m afraid

it's not so much the game itself that gets boring. gta 5 can still be fun, but you need to have quite some cash to get the fun goodies. i really don't care nor want to play the same missions over and over, just to grind the bs amount needed to buy fun vehicles and weapons.

the game is supposed to be fun. not a chore. if you make certain items or 90% of the fun stuff extremely expensive, then at least make fun online modes that don't get boring too quick and actually make them pay out good amounts. same with missions. cayo perico is a f*cking bore... i did play it over and over for a while, but only until i could the stuff i wanted to mess around with in free-roam.

don't lock everything behind ridiculius amounts of in-game cash so that impatient people will buy shark cards... then i'll be happier.

Company dependent I believe. Most game studios I think still are, including Rockstar, worldwide.

Why do they spend so much time making other games when GTA is the best selling game of all time?

But they were working on GTA in the meantime. It's just that that GTA happened to be GTA Online. V sold 155 million units only because of GTAO. And RDR2 outsold every single GTA except V within 3 years.

I'm pretty sure they'll try to build GTAVI and it's online mode to last a decade and in the meantime they'll make other games, maybe create a new IP. Having multiple billion dollar IPs is far better than having just one, that's true for any company that's keen on increasing their valuation.

Idk mate. I really worry about rdr future after Dans departure.

It was initially his passion project after all.

You should read this article about the history of Red Dead Revolver's development. It's fascinating. Many former executives, developers specifically namechecked both Housers, especially Sam, multiple times. Red Dead is more than Dan Houser and I'm sure we're gonna see Red Dead 3 in future.

Here are a few quotes from that article-

Quote

Even before Rockstar purchased the company, the team would visit Angel Studios several times a year to see the tech the team was working on. Knowing that the team was working on a Western somewhere in the studio, Bader (Daren) recalls, piqued the Housers’ interest, Sam especially.

“They couldn’t really technically come see what we were doing [because we were working with another publisher],” Bader says. “But I remember Sam and Dan saying, ‘Man, we would walk down the hall, and we wanted to come in there and see what the f*ck you guys were doing with the Western, because we’ve always wanted to do a Western.’”

Quote

Rockstar San Diego went on to develop a sequel to Revolver: Red Dead Redemption. Redemption ended up being the open-world Western game that, developers say, Sam Houser wanted to make — part of the reason Rockstar bought the rights to Revolver in the first place.

“I remember Sam loved The Wild Bunch, and certainly that was a huge influence on Redemption,” says Spilkin (Stewart). “I think when he saw Red Dead Revolver, he kind of imagined what he wanted the game to be eventually, and decided that that was a path to do that.”

Lol, another one of these? We had one that was pretty well made and in the end it was a bad photoshop. No Rockstar game ever has had gameplay pictures like this leaked, at best you get post-release footage of dev builds in employee portfolios.

With how easy it is to fake stuff nowadays with all kinds of AI methods and what not, these pics shouldn't be taken with a grain or a bag of salt, but yes a whole salt mine.

If this is real then there will be Textures that will reappear in GTA VI.

(sorry if this was posted B4)

I believe the volumetric clouds are from a GTAV mod called QuantV which is currently as of this time private to select members, also looks similar to the look of that mod too.

How many of those unannounced mobile titles have been revealed?

Let's see what they reveal at the earnings call on February 7th.

Stuff like that is easily re-created with mods and stuff these days, so you can never tell for sure. Remember the submarine screenshot leak? Good old days.
