What I’m literally begging to be in GTA VI if it takes place in vice. Who wouldn’t want to make their own small island/country bought with drug money?

I like this blue themed wallpaper, looks better than the usual pink when something is related to Vice City.

That looks great as a mock wallpaper. Hopefully it's some time this year that we get something like this, so then, given Rockstar's track record of reveals 2 years before release, it comes out 2024.

But even then, if it is revealed this year, we would have had the license run out for some GTA 5 songs before we've even got a new game. That's scary.

I hope Rockstar will treat every vehicle in GTA 6 with the same love as some of the most recent GTA Online vehicles, I long for a convincing version of the R34 such as this one:

They're the best at it. Because when they announce a game, they create legitimate demand, hype and desperation. They take the approach "less is more".

I think Bethesda are the worst at marketing. Games like Dishonored 2, Prey & RAGE 2, and a few others were under marketed.

Just something that's been in my head recently. I wonder if GTA VI could be how they finally are able to make GTA Online be a truly permanently updated and separate entity, without abandoning the single player games whatsoever.

e.g., GTA Online is re-released with GTA VI, including V's LS and all its activities but on a much more modern version of RAGE, better stability, graphics and what not. If you purchase GTA VI, you get access to Vice City within GTA Online and obviously the Story Mode.

To balance things out, you wouldn't be able to bring any of your LS currency with you to VC. Perhaps you'd have to use another bank because you're being federally investigated, and any cash would have to be stashed elsewhere. You would be able to bring a personal vehicle and your clothes, perhaps even weapons. In VC you would then have a completely separate set of missions, vehicles, weapons, ways to make money and activities. You would be able to travel back and forth any time.

This "permanent" version of GTA Online could then receive engine-side updates and other stuff at a cadence, instead of having to stick to making changes here and there to a really old version like GTA V's that most certainly wasn't tailored for what GTA Online is today. This could even mean that they could seamlessly introduce GTA VII's city into GTA Online, while once again keeping the Story Mode experience completely separate. Perhaps you could even choose between buying the whole package (unlock VI city in GTAO + VI Story Mode), just VI Story Mode or just a VI Online addon.

The caveats with this are many on the dev side though, and for instance, R* like introducing brand-new tech and mechanics with each mainline game so making major engine changes even in this situation would be a big challenge, especially if they wished to change any of GTA's core mechanics in a future game. Live service sure is a damn beast to deal with lol. And obviously this would be stupid if GTA VI isn't present day, so just rambling as I know how difficult this stuff *actually* is to architect. :p

Well you’re objectively wrong, their approach works wonders for them. You might not like it but it works.

It would be very interesting!

a strong trend, remembering the RDO menu and expanding even more all your ideas, and your words that reminded me of this menu concept posted on reddit. (it's a little rough but interesting)

Yeah I guess you’re right I was talking more of terms of GTAV EnE and DE trilogy

Those just weren't massive games that needed huge marketing, tbh. Similar happened in 2017, with the L.A. Noire remaster. Only for a year later to have RDR2 marketed the way it was.

it happens.

Even if E&E has some nice graphical changes and additions it really doesn't need a crap ton of marketing, it's still GTA V. It's not too late yet for a March release.

Also remember that while Rockstar may not be that active with their social media marketing campaign, they invest a sh*t ton in the old-school outside world type advertisement. I remember seeing giant billboards with RDR 2 all over the city back in 2018. And it's not like I live in New York, far from it...

Honestly, I'd love that. GTA Online has basically grown into it's own thing, however at the same time, it is dragging GTA V around like a dog. The only reason E&E is a thing is because of Online, the cash cow is just too big to ignore for Rockstar, and sadly that means that Single Player is having to pay the price, so having GTA VI not have it's own version of Online, but rather having an expansion onto the pre-existing GTA Online would honestly be amazing. That way, GTA Online fans are able to have a new city and the updates they love, and Single-Player OG GTA fans are able to have a new story, new map, new experience. It's a best case scenario for everyone, and idk why Rockstar seemingly don't see that, or at least Take2 don't.

I live in a relatively small town in New Zealand. I was very hyped to see a Red Dead 2 poster on our one billboard we have.

Idk man the way Bethesda marketed Fallout 4 was pretty good. They announced it and then said it came out in 5 months. Rockstar would never…

Rockstar is known to introducing new lands in addition to the map the game takes place within. Guarma and North Yankton. For this next title, Los Santos is a great fit for that role. We could re-experience the same Los Santos, but with new mechanics and map changes. Imagine seeing the Mile High Club construction fully done within the new Los Santos. And reusing and improving upon existing assets is a way to combat crunch.

There's also a question of whether Rockstar would make use of all the vehicles added to GTA Online. If the next title is adopting multiple timelines and assuming the end of the story brings us to present time, then all GTAO vehicles should be day one vehicles on that new release. E&E may help with that, assuming Rockstar updated the 2013 vehicles.

Back in 2012 EA announced that SimCity was to be released in 2013. Fans were so mad at that fact. I couldn't understand why they were so mad, as back then I couldn't wait to see at least one screenshot of Grand Theft Auto V, not to mention the release date.

I'd rather have a completely new map tbh. I'm burnt out on Los Santos, and I'm sure many others are too, so having a remake of Vice City for example would be alot more welcome to players than just returning to an updated version of a map we've been playing for about 10 years now.

Vice City would be the main map, of course. LS addition would be more of a side map of the next title.

Oh yeah I wouldn't mind something like that, like working with Franklin for example to see if he can help expand your business, or the Russian guy from the Cayo Perico heist.

I would prefer a second South American city tbh. A smaller one.

Like the early leaks claimed.
