Everyone is expecting it to be announced this year, we don't even need a leak to know this anymore, regardless of sarcasm or not.

I never jumped on the bandwagon that GTA VI would be announced in 2020 or 2021. For the past 2 years I have believe that if we were to get a GTA VI announcement, it would only be in 2022 or beyond, not sooner

Weirdly enough I wasn't expecting it this year, it just sounds too close to GTA 5 E&E which was a cash grabber game in the first place, I would have assumed take two would have wanted to focus on marketing it especially until the end of this year for christmas. I expected gta 6 to be announced in 2023 at this point, but now I'm not sure what to think since apparently it's obvious that it should come this year

Well a GTA VI announcement and the E&E release can very well coexist. After all E&E should release early in the year if it's not delayed.

I'm going to be honest, I am losing faith in Rockstar and GTA VI. For the past few years, they have gone downhill, but it has become especially bad after RDR2 was released. Prominent members of the company left, they have been treating their fans like sh*t, they are giving us half baked cash grabs. They just keep f*cking up, and I am very concerned about GTA VI and their future. Sometimes I feel like RDR2 was their last great game that GTA VI might end up being a disappointing pile of sh*t. I hope they prove me wrong, because I have lost a lot of faith and respect in them.

but why would they need it and thus do it ? Like the way I'm seeing it is, gta 5 still milks a sh*t ton of money, so why would they announce gta 6 this close to gta 5 E&E ? I just don't understand this sudden shift of position from take two, they now can milk gta 5 for at least the whole 2022 and now they would announce gta 6 in the same time ? What do they gain by announcing it now instead of 2023 ? Not saying it can't coexist but I don't understand why they would do it when they just don't need to announce gta 6 at all for now since they still make as much money as ever  

Except if they just have a planned release date of 2023, and thus they need at least a year of marketing, but then the question remains, marketing gta 6 and gta 5 E&E in the same time when they could just push out gta 6 ? Trying to think from their POV, I don't get why they would do that, not that it can't coexist but it doesn't have to coexist in the first place, so why do it ?
