I assume you mean GTAO because V the SP game hasn't gotten any substantial update since 2015 and it's highly unlikely they'll drop GTAO when VI comes out. Current GTAO would still be supported even when VI comes out, at least that's how Zelnick sees it. Maybe they'll try to integrate GTAO's map and some of the content in VI's online mode in some way, to try and migrate the playerbase. GTAO is way too big to ignore now or 3 years from now on.

A world so big it has multiple cities with different climates. They've had f*cking long enough. We're in year 9 of V with no new game announced. That alone is a disgrace and a huge middle finger the entire fanbase. Rockstar don't care about the fans anymore.

They don't even have to share a release year, just like GTA V reveal trailer in November 2011 didn't.

 

It would be way easier to wait if we got a confirmation and a trailer that would reveal the city etc.

But things can always change with new leadership, direction, etc. But as of right now, and with how long these games take to develop, and how big GTA Online is... No.

I've just stumbled upon this video

I hope GTA VI has an intro/opening credits somewhere along the lines of this. It's a shame the HD era GTAs don't have intros like the 3d era ones and hopefully GTA VI changes that.

speaking of narcos heres another tv show

 

this teaser gives me hype even tho the movies been out for 2 years. I want VIs teaser to have that same feeling.

It's really crazy to think that R* only takes 4 years to make GTA IV - only of most detailed and realistic games in series.

Rockstar kinda got themselves in a really bad spot. There is so much stuff happening right now in the gaming industry, that Rockstar really has to try very hard to make sure, that next GTA won't feel dated within few years of its relase. No one back in 2014 could predict such huge leap between console generations.

I think R* did pretty well with RDR2 considering that started to be developed when the PS4/Xbox One era consoles released and it still managed to look like a late-gen title, better than many others. I think exponentially increasing console power will also allow for more freedom, and less constraint with the things they can do, so I don't think they'll be limited just because they started developing GTA VI during the previous gen era.
