RDR2 has a timecycle named Hurricane so if VI is in Vice City I think it's almost guaranteed

This will be off topic but I really wonder your ideas y’all. What is the possibility of official RP servers and cross-platform support for GTA Online Standalone? If I remember correctly, a while ago, an investor said that there are so many people who play RP servers and asked if there were any plans for an official support. @Yan2295 @Tez2 I would appreciate your comments if you have any

I doubt the next version of Online will even have Invite/Friends/Crew Only sessions. Proper RP servers seem out of the question. Even if they did, I'm not sure how they could moderate that so the servers don't get taken over by griefer trolls.

 

I think they'll probably say some stuff in the promotion of the next GTA Online to suggest they've catered to the RP community without actually doing much to cater to them at all. They'll likely take a page out of Red Dead Online's playbook and instead of calling things businesses they'll call them roles.

Not seen this discussed before so apologies if it has been but I was just playing V and I noticed they've added this mural to one of the buildings (or maybe its always been there but I've never noticed)

 

Anyways theres some kind of quote going around it but more interestingly theres a V and what appears to be an Eye on either side of the hands - V.......eye - Which of course sounds like VI ? Could be noting but interesting none the less.

I think, that many of these people would be also happy with GTA VI being set in the 70s but they can't see Rockstar going back that far. Why some fans want it so much? I guess having something that doesn't feel like GTA V v2 is one of the reasons.

Same here actually. Worst case scenario.

 

It wouldn't work with GTAO's community. RDO's is much more friendly and more RP than GTA, that's why it works.

 

For example, yesterday I was playing RDO for the first time in months. I walked out of the Saint Denis barber and met another player on his horse. We waved, I then walked into the bar around the corner. He followed, parked his horse outside and we started drinking together. Then I walked outside, he followed and he started provoking me. You know, pushing. We started drunk-fighting, I won. He came back, waved at me and left. It was all fun and games.

 

In GTAO, that guy would have followed me, blown me up and tried to set my family on fire from the moment we met outside the barber.

 

Honestly, public-only sessions would be a game-breaker.

Much more than any time-period I don't want or whatever, public only would really make me barely play and kill the game on arrival.

I disagree. GTA Online's current updates are suited to those that want to go solo and can still be accessed in Invite only sessions, It obvious there is a demand for it (especially in GTA).

Also FiveM is very popular, You can argue it's the reason GTA V on PC is doing so good. it will be foolish not to implement some of it into the next instalment. I personally wouldn't call Roles a success either, but they are technically RP.

agreed - the solo design of the latest updates is the only reason i've played any of them. i don't really have any friends that play GTAO and playing with randoms is iffy at best (lots of sexist BS lol) so being able to go in on my own has been very nice

Yeah, and I think they'll continue do this but that's, at best, a half measure attempt at appeasing the people asking for solo. I think most solo players want to be able to run their businesses in solo. I don't think Rockstar is ever going to allow that and if they aren't going to allow that then they certainly aren't going to create RP servers.
