GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 5.69]

Recommended Posts

I love Rockstars parody and it's one of the main components of a successful gta game...

However there is something that i appreciate more and that's a good story.

A story with weight, consequences, atmosphere....

After Rdr 2 it's hard to not want more. Or at least something on that level.

Sure Gta was never necessarily about the story (excluding Iv).

Not saying their stories were shallow. They were just not comparable to Rdr 2 level.

Anyway the Gta fanbase changed over the years so i am trying to not have expectations in terms of Vis story...

It's gonna be great in terms of world, gameplay but don't be surprised if the story is Gta online level.

Btw when i say story I don't mean JUST the plot.

I mean the whole approach, dialogue, weight to your actions.

i've created a gta 6 story in my head. gta 6 should cover stories from the 70s-80s and jump to modern stories. i imagined two characters set in a 70s-80s settings. a black soul singer that got his life ruined by a lawsuit or something so he goes mysterious an all. until he goes bankrupt and goes for cocaine deals and selling so he could regain his fortune. another character is a corrupt italian badass businessman that wears clothes like frank sinatra. he was raised in a poor household back in italy so he went with his father to america, nyc to find an opportunity to live and thrive. living in a poor environment with drugs and crime influenced the italian businessman as a child. so he started dealing drugs and have entered an organized crime syndicate and from there he is the man that is known for his crimes. i have many ideas for the 2 modern characters lol tell me if you like what i imagined

I wanna see drugs,  I wanna see gangs and criminal organizations, I wanna see corruption, I wanna see more criminal activities and what you people are worried about are what jokes Rockstar are gonna make? Come on man....

I get it we all play GTA for different reasons. But If I want some jokes I turn on comedy central or go on youtube.

Speaking about crimes, I want GTA 6 to shift the focus from the usual heists a little, maybe one or another throughout the game's story, but I wanna see drugs and weapons trafficking as a way to make money, dealing stolen vehicles, burglary, assassination contracts, illegal street races, taking over gang territories, business and such...

So you want to play as two grandpas? Because even if they were in their 20's in the 1980's, they would at least be 50 years old by now. That's the problem with a time jump from the 1980's to nowaways, unless we're going to play as someone in the past and then as his son in the present.

Most who want this game to be set in 1980's don't know why, too.

It's just nice. It's not about nostalgia, or anything like that. It's just a cool period that hasn't been done properly by Rockstar. And I'd just like to see them do a proper 80's Miami with modern tech. Plus the music and 80's technology would be cool for a setting.

These are just my personal feelings, though.

For the vibes.

Yep the 80s vibes.  Its not too hard to understand either , those were the years of great music and nightclubs , weird and cool fashions , and an overall more simple and yet more complicated way of life at the same time when compared to nowdays and of course when it comes to GTA stuff it was the decade of some of the most notorious crimes organizations that ended up in the popular imagination of the world due to movies and tv shows. Also  like somebody else said ... if you could graph modern progress with the psychological impact on happiness, the 80s is where it peaked.

I'm a 100% with you.

I'm sure Crockett's Theme could still play in a modern day radio :yee:

It does play, more often than you'd think.....  It still gets covers and new versions from modern artists as well.

It's not that it hasn't been done properly, It's just that compared to today's standards, GTA Vice City is pretty dated

the best part about gta is the accurate parodies of the real world, like its literally perfect satire. hopefully its not going over anyone's head.

For me at least, the satire has become far too on the nose and obvious, especially in V/Online. I get that GTA's entire thing is being a parody of American culture, but I wouldn't mind a slightly more subtle approach in the future. Not that I want the satire to go away, mind you, it would just be nice to have something that isn't so directly in your face for a change.

Certainly plays in my modern Spotify playlist lol

The more I think about it, the more I am adjusting to the idea of a different era than the 80s for VI.

But noo, not what you think. I'm still opposed to modern day. We already have that in GTAO, so why play the same game again?

I'm thinking more 90's or 00's. Maybe somewhere between 97 - 03. I'd really like that. Think of the Bad Boys movies, MTV Cribs, all of that stuff.

It would feel fresh since we never had it and it's still a past setting, but not that far away.

man. i knew we went through that image in gta trilogy, but damn. it sure sparks some thoughts in my head. clouds look so much like rage engine clouds (rdr2 clouds) and the house looks way too good to be in gta v. it also looks like a common florida suburb house in florida. man rockstar is really blue balling us right now

I'm glad you mentioned that, most people don't realise that 80s Vice City in GTA VI will be way, way better than a 20 year old rendition of the same period. There are lots of things that existed in the 80s but not in GTA Vice City because of technical limitations. So saying that it would feel repetitive does not make sense. Plus just because they're the same setting does not mean they can't be different in terms of story and theme.

Also Merry Christmas, everyone!
