People: Complain about things that are in GTA V

Also people: Praise GTA IV even though it has some of the things they don't like about GTA V

Me: Visible Confusion

Well the thing about gta V was that it was obviously supposedly meant to be much better than what was released, so it dissapointed many.

If you watch the original first trailer for V it seems much more detailed and alive than the released V.

Gta iv was also meant to be better than what it was but it did not disappoint anyone that  much because it was technically much better than the earlier gta's so no one bothered to complain as much, even if some promised things like climbing up electrical poles etc were removed.

V is worse than Iv in some things so that also added on to the disappointment and complain about V.

Also we have been stuck with V so long now so ofcourse theres complaining

Just go and read a few threads from back when GTAIV came out and how divisive it was in different forums. It disappointed tons of people because of it's tone, direction, driving mechanics, lack of content, customization, environmental diversity compared to SA. IV's mixed reception among 3D era fans was one of the reasons Rockstar did change some things up in GTAV. To my utter surprise V was just as bleak as IV thematically but they presented it in a much more colorful way which made the overall gameplay closer to San Andreas which again was a smashing success for them.

For mainstream however every mainline GTA was a smashing success and I don't see VI being any different.

oh i know and remember iv disappointet many and many complined a lot about it, but i feel like v has had more complaining by now, but maybe thats because there has been more time to complaing because we are stuck with it still waiting VI.

Same thing will happen with GTA VI. Many people will be disapointed because the game won't be RDR II with cars

Well yeah, it's been 8 years we're stuck with V. Technically we're stuck with GTAO though which many core fans dislike passionately. I'd imagine one more new game or even a beefy story DLC between 2013 and now instead of just RDR2 would've calmed things down a bit. But just like older times the complaining is mostly within hardcore communities. You don't sell ~5 million copies each quarter if majority dislike how you conduct business so whatever.

true. i respect that but they are a multi billion dollars company. they could do singleplayer dlcs for their games and make small lovable ips that can regain their fan's love. i just hope rockstar notices how much we love the new story dlc in gta online so they could even think about giving us more but in singleplayer mode.

when are you expecting an announcement, respected member Zapper :). i am torn between 2022 and 23

I still believe we might hear something about it next year. I mean, the worst case scenario is a 2023 announcement but if it goes beyond that... I don't know :jkek:, unless they're planning to release another new game in the meantime. It's possible they could try and release it just a year after announcement, like they did with RDR1 (2009 announcement and 2010 release) then 2023 announcement would make more sense. Probably E&E's commercial performance would factor a few things as well.

those are some good points :). personally i dont think gta v e&e will delay 6's announcement, but it definitely gives them a breathing room if it succeed, so you might be right. more importantly, i think where gta vi is in its development cycle is what will determine the announcement. safe to say, that will remain a mystery for a while :modkek:

I don't know why people want this game to be set in the 80's so much, it probably won't for obvious reasons, besides, I wanna know how Rockstar handles nowadays stuff such as the politically correct culture and what not, because it certainly got worse since 2013.

I think there's just a current trend in gaming right now to avoid contemporary themes and explore a broader spectrum of stories, characters and elements. I would expect the next GTA to introduce something in between new and old. If we continue the current GTA model of multiple characters and locations then it's a safe bet to assume the next will too.

I say the 80s introduce a lot of movies, music and technology that is still tremendously being remade, sampled or updated.

I don't play GTA for politics. If I wanted that I could just turn on CNN or Fox News.

Back in 2020 and this year I was really not excepting an annoucement for GTA VI. I would just roll my eyes over when I saw people saying that it will definitly be annouced in 2020/2021 which made no sense to me because RDR2 was still pretty fresh so I didn't see Rockstar annoucing a game the scope of GTA VI not even 2 or 3 years after releasing a game the scope of RDR2 which they had to use most of their staff to make. For these past 2 years I have been leaning more on 2022 being the start year for when Rockstar would announce their next project. So I am fully open to seeing something next year.

Most who want this game to be set in 1980's don't know why, too.

It's just for nostalgia, since most expect it to be in Vice City. I love the 80s but personally if it's not modern day, I'd rather them go a bit further back for something new.

I wouldn’t oppose to a repeat of 80’s Vice City, but I prefer the possibilities of a current setting. I think something like a big prologue in the 1970s Caribbean would be awesome. And then the transition to modern-day Vice City.

Lmao imagine multiple characters but one of them are in the 80s and you can only go to that time period by swapping, could lead to sum interesting unconventional story pacing ngl.

also its definitely getting announced in late 2022

It’s pretty clear that a lot of people aren’t going to get what they want out of the next title. It’s all well and good to not want the 80’s or a modern setting, but what happens when one of those things gets announced and the game you’ve been waiting for for 8+ years is not the one you’re getting? Lots of complaints, like when all those people were upset and saying that blue car guy couldn’t possible be a playable character because he’s an old man and not gangster enough. This place is going to be an absolute minefield between announcement and release.

Anyway, Merry Christmas.

I said politically correct stuff in general, not only politics, I'm not a native english speaker, but I'm pretty sure that I made my point clear enough.

Why do you wanna see that though? I'd rather see y'know some crime.

I already said it, I wanna know how Rockstar handles nowadays stuff, if they still got the courage to make fun of some things or not, things like that.

I wanna see drugs,  I wanna see gangs and criminal organizations, I wanna see corruption, I wanna see more criminal activities and what you people are worried about are what jokes Rockstar are gonna make? Come on man....

I get it we all play GTA for different reasons. But If I want some jokes I turn on comedy central or go on youtube.
