I kind of agree with Dourvas that Preacher probably has some sort of inside knowledge at Rockstar,

 

he obviously lives near Rockstar North and from what I gather goes to a same pub, maybe has friends there, who knows.

 

Problem is his delivery and methods just irritate me whether he knows something or not.

 

I don't like playing stupid games, unless they're made by Rockstar.

The whole gimmick can be tiresome at times, don't disagree with you there. It's part of the "character" to protect his identity.

 

But he definitely knows stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if he has friends in there like you said and they are feeding him information.

Meant to insult or divalue a member in a "comedic" way.

Anyway i am not a member here for discussing topics with the most of the time unreasonable staff anyway, i am here for the news/leaks so i will slowly gravitate the conversation back to the game now..

If you want transparency, you could just ask. "typical staff" isn't exactly inviting discussion. Here's the statement we made as a collective about 8 months ago, to the Apostle group, on why we were quietly removing the perks we had freely given them. It speaks for itself on where we stand as a team for the sake of minimal disruption to the community.

 

For myself personally, I always gave him the benefit of the doubt, I have no problem admitting I joined in with the discussion and research, who doesn't enjoy a good mystery? At the end of the day though, I don't know who he is, he seems like a smart guy who is well-read in media and culture, but he doesn't seem to mind pushing a narrative lie about my position on the forums, he thinks we're paid by Rockstar, and he blocked me on Twitter for questioning him, so why should I have any patience for an upside down 7?

I've dm'd a couple of admins asking for full transparency but got ignored, mostly on what triggered the change of heart.

 

Anyway nobody has to answer to me for their own reasons and i truly respect that. It's just i was always curious and someone could argue that since the admins backed up the project in the past they owed an more clear explanation on what changed their whole mindset.

 

"Owed" is a strong word though and really lol its a gaming forum nobody has to answer for their actions!

 

It's just, a more detailed post would be really appreciated. 

 

You have a small community of die hard fans and you are in charge of it.

 

Don't be like Rockstar... Be more transparent. If you want to be that is...

In fairness though, that's not really an argument when that was restricted to a bunch of more hardcore fans who believed in the "preacher", and we had our reasons to do away with it, outlined in the message, and more. It's not like we were making an urgent PSA about the whole community for us to *have* to be transparent about it, the fish supper was clearly not meant for the general GTAF memberbase anyway and proper discussion is more valued here than a bunch of conspiracy theories stretched over what is now years.

We're still not used to talk through this "wired thingy" aren't we?

Trying to discern what to believe or not in the internet is still very difficult.

So it's understandable that sometimes we have to let go of somethings to reestablish some sense of order.

I never thought this would be on my list of things I'd want from VI, but I genuinely hope it will be a finished product when it releases, and not something like the games that have been released the past +/-3 months lol
