I don't think there'll be a GTA Online 2, it would sound weird  perhaps they will do what COD did with Warzone, or somehow transition to a new GTAO that replaces the old one

I think GTAO will stay forever,but they will upgrade engine when next GTA comes out.

"Upgrade the engine" is an over-used choice of words. 
Especially in this case.

Plus it will most probably be next gen only, I think that the game will look insane.

My main concern is that the game will lose its soul in an attempt to please casual gamers. I don’t have a problem with online, I actually think it was great until around mid 2018.  The problem to me is when it starts to turn into a Saints Row style game and they’re putting in any idea they can think of just to see what sticks.  I think the most important thing is that companies put out good games. If games are good, people will buy them.  Unfortunately though the trend of trying to stretch everything out for 10 years means they start to do whatever they can to keep the thing going, even after it goes way beyond the point of what the game was meant to handle. GTA 5 should have been over a long time ago, but now it’s like Frankenstein, it’s a monster that won’t die.  I also think the problem is in companies trying to pursue a business model that seeks to limit content and get as many players as possible to buy the cheapest-made content. There’s so much that could be done with online (ie RP community)but they don’t want to risk increasing overhead - they want to herd in the masses and get them all to buy the same thing.  And the easier and cheaper the profits are, the more risk-averse the company becomes. They become dependent on it like a drug. And eventually they’ll end up killing their golden goose, although that hasn’t happened yet. Maybe that’s where the micro-transactions come in, and the obsessive/addictive tricks built into the game loop keep people playing despite the constant downgrade in quality. I guess making a good game isn’t as easy or cheap as making a bad game that will have guaranteed profits through manipulative techniques. And while Rockstar was a legendary company, Take Two (like with the 2k sports games) seems more like the tobacco industry or a scratch ticket company than game publishers.

TBH with you I'm scared of what GTAVI will be like seems all the best guys behind all the GTA games have gone now, Plus the lack of content RDO has gotten over the last 3 years and after how bad the GTA remasters come out. I feel like GTAVI will be just like GTAV and everything we are doing right now we will be doing in GTAVI.

It's probably a misinterpretation, but since the other three figures in the tweet have the same names as GTA 3, VC and SA's protagonists I was thinking - from what was hinted - that the fourth guy's name could be the same as the GTA 6 main protagonist.

 

 

The fourth guy's name is Robert "Rikki" Fulton and "Rikki" is a short name for Richard/Ricardo... so if you've been following some Reddit leaks in the past you know who I'm talking about (I don't know if I can't talk about it here but I think you know who it is).

 

Just some fun. If it's wrong, it is what it is.

hopefully new character creator with entirely new made model/models.

The current gta online characters feel so soulless and look kind of ugly. Theyr so bland. Almost dont feel like humans tbh somehow. 

rdr2 online characters and the creator is so much better quality.

Would be boring if the same not so good character models just continue to the "next gta online"

No mate it wasn't, And remember R* always puts out a few second teaser trailer a year or two before the game comes out and we saw that with GTAV and RDR2. GTAVI will probably get teased in 2024 and drop in 2026 if not before.

What do you mean? GTA has always been a casual game since the beginning. If you mean Online, then I have to disappoint you, because the people who keep playing Online and buying shark cards are hardcore gamers.

The heists and contracts in On-line are harder than any Story mission in the GTA or RDR series, besides the RC helicopter mission in SA.

There might be certain hmm ... jobs that allow you to have early access to this kind of information and I'm not talking about hacking.
