GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 5.69]

Strauss: "You would like every franchise to be James Bond"  "....I think Red Dead is one of them"

Huh?

In the future I could see R* making new historical games (eg. wild west/medieval/pirates) between GTA releases yeah, but just wild west?

RDR3 maybe, but after that...?

Strauss Zelnick:

Quote

"we take the time to make something that we think is incredibly phenomenal and we also rest titles intentionally so that there’s pent-up demand for that title so that it’s a special event"

Also Strauss Zelnick:

Quote

"we believe in resting titles as a great thing. I was a real outlier 12 years ago when we said we don't think it makes sense to annualize non-sports titles, and now most people would agree. But I think eight years is probably too long."

I seriously think making smaller scaled, experimental, more focused experiences (like Bully, The Warriors) between tentpole releases (and periodic online updates) is the best thing Rockstar can do. A separate moderately large studio could do it. That'll satisfy the both sides of the fence. Not every game has to be GTAV or RDR2.

What if GTA VI drops unexpectedly at midnight next year sometime; without promotions or previews. I could imagine planes falling out the sky that day.

That's one way to make up for poor quality control.

This Ralph guy teasing Max Payne…

Edit: At least we will know if he is reliable or not lol

Again so called "insiders" tell obvious things. For example, it was found that Max Payne 3 appeared on the Xbox Marketplace in Saudi Arabia. And all of a sudden new "insider" post such things. It is obvious. On Monday there will be Xbox anniversary announcements, so wait for MP3 via backwards compatibility soon.

Take-Two are just as likely to DMCA Rockstar Games for making a GTA game, at this point.

the problem is that if it really sells
because if not it sells
to continue with the same game
gta and red dead
come on the gta saga is the hesoyam of R
if they make me a bully 2
or another game
it will sell very little insurance

Lmao imagine the article headlines

"Take two starts to remove Rockstar games titles from all digital platforms. This is due to the release of Gta v on the next generation of consoles".

Now that i think about it didn't they remove the old versions of the classics? :kekw:

Oh my. Zelnick is nothing if not a natural salesman. I'm sure he could put a good spin on anything 💩

My guess is that he'd just walked out of seeing the new Bond movie and had a few half-baked ideas over the popcorn. Sure, Zelnick has executive experience in the movie industry but so do thousands of other people, that's not what makes him exceptional as a businessman or a leader.

The difference between a T2 game like GTA6 and a blockbuster film is that marketing for big movies is something the industry has been doing very well for decades and decades. There's almost a tried and tested playbook, with steps that go a little something like this:

When a film is in pre-production, let people know about it.

When the casting is done, let people know who the stars are going to be.

When it's in production let people know about it, drop some snippets of catchy info to the press, maybe some photos or film clips too.

Then before it comes out, saturate everyone everywhere with it.

Whereas for GTA6.... :kekw:  If past form is anything to go by then they'll kind of just skip straight to the final step.

So how can T2 credibly claim to 'build anticipation' for a game that doesn't officially exist? Isn't that the same as... doing absolutely nothing?

Damn, I really hope this game won't take place in Vice City. I mean, do you really want it to be in Vice City?

I can't think of any other games that removed the original versions when a remaster came along. So yeah, they basically were DMCA'd by themselves.

Any GTA VI files inside GTA trilogy files ??

At this rate they should just control leak something or announce it to distract from the current mess known as the trilogy. But doubt it will ever happen hahah

For Rockstar, that is exactly how you do it :fartkek:. :fartkek: :fartkek: :fartkek: This non-existent game has 5 topics (6 including this one) with over 3000 pages just for speculation in this very forum along with countless other topics, a 40k+ strong Reddit community and probably half the posts in that leaks and rumours subreddit is probably GTAVI leaks. This sh*t trends on Twitter almost every month. I'd say that they did almost too good of a job of building anticipation (by doing nothing) so that people spam VI everytime they post something on social media. The official announcement will be like Rockstar dropping a nuke :prismkek::prismkek::prismkek::prismkek: and after that they'll market the sh*t out of it in 4-5 months before it's release.

dont know where to put this so i post it in here

the RGL "maintenance" and pulling off the pc version from the store is obviously because of the songs people found in the game

they dont have copyrights for them, but they still exist in their newly released games, they distributed songs they have no rights for them, i dont know how illegal this is, but they could get in serious trouble because of this imo

Correct.

Middle Class Roadman

After the appalling disappointment that the DE trilogy has turned out to be, Rockstar better knock the f*cking ball out of the park with GTA VI. Also don't be fooled by Zelnicks comments about GTA and RDR being James Bond type franchises - he's literally saying that with ONLINE in mind, it's pretty obvious.

Well...

Rockstar Games is maybe no longer a high standard gaming brand. It's just a legacy cash cow. A valuable retro-thing.

If you rewind maybe three years ago, it was still considered an industry leader. The recent form has been absolutely abysmal. Intangible value is easily lost and almost impossible to regain.

I'm starting to think that when (if?) Rockstar announces GTA6 there will be a significant proportion of the gaming community that could quite rightly say:

- So what?

- You're years late and out of date

- You're buggy and flat

- Your recent track record is mediocre (Trilogy, E&E), so why should we expect anything better from whatever commercially-optimized bullsh*t an icy Six is going to be?

Rockstar is going to be expected to make a game that exceeds GTA5 & online. So no pressure there.

I hate that idea, I'm sure everyone reading this hates that idea too. But I think we have to accept that unless we see anything to prove otherwise, that's probably the dismal direction this whole sh*tshow is headed.

That goes without saying. Online is an extremely huge part of modern gaming and part of which made GTAV this much successful and it'll only get bigger in future with more intricate social experiences.

You're out of date already

That significant proportion will be less than 1% of the entire GTA playerbase. Vast majority of the mainstream audience is completely out of touch with that ~1%. E&E will sell just fine, hell probably this Trilogy DE will sell well too lol. If internet discontent meant anything CoD would be dead already, FIFA would be dead, NBA2K would be dead but that's not how real world works, especially for something like GTA.

People are hungry for a new GTA for a long time. Every single of their social media post is spammed with VI, do you think people will give that up when it finally comes out just for botched outsourced remaster of 20 year old games? I don't think so. And I have every reason to believe Rockstar will try their best to not make any mistake with VI because they know what's at stake there, just like they didn't in their past brand new titles. They'll try to build the game to last for a long time based on how Jason Schreier is talking.

I really hope there will be so many role play elements, i want it to be immersive as much as it can. RDR 2 is really  something else and i still play to this day and enjoying it very very much. It is just far ahead from other games like literally a generation head its truly magnificent. But i tried to play V again after Trilogies and oh no its so pointless and boring without main story. Like nothing to do literally other than boring races, pointless activities (like hunting because there are no real forests in this game, also animals are pointless, no usage of them, no realism they have, mountain lions ans dogs running animations like they have been f*cked from ass, also melee is sh*t, pedestrian insta die from regular punches etc. and i know its 2013 game but it i think all these problems are not because game is made in 2013 but more about they didnt have online cash cow back then so they have to release games sooner and more budget pressure than now back then on them). Its not fun for me to just drive aimless and rampage, i think its time for a change for more immersive, role play included game. Ofc these features doesnt have to be mandotary like u have to eat everyday or you die, but like how they handled in RDR2. After nearly 10 years of waiting, if it will come like V again im done and i hope it won't be like V. I still remember back than how much hyped i am after the first trailer of V and it was such a disappointment for me after played it about a month (ofc i liked it but it was way below from my expactations). I was scared for RDR2 when i saw first trailer because my expectations are very high, also at the same time i though "its probably V style game  finish the story and done" but somehow it exceed my expectations and i never imagined that much detailed game and im glad this game made. Idk why i post that much i guess i rly wanted a game like RDR2 but set in modern times which is VI i hope.
