That's not the reason as you can't even buy it atm and all other games are affected too. Refund policy iirc is within 14 days of purchase or 2 hours of gameplay. If you can't play it you will still be able to refund it later, the store isn't gonna be down for 2 weeks.

Max Payne 1 & 2 already leaked as possibly coming to Xbox Back Compatibility. So nothing special here, really.

the RGL "maintenance" and pulling off the pc version from the store is obviously because of the songs people found in the game

they dont have copyrights for them, but they still exist in their newly released games, they distributed songs they have no rights for them, i dont know how illegal this is, but they could get in serious trouble because of this imo

He's the latest "insider", mostly focusing on COD but has mentioned an IV remaster and Naughty Dog stuff too. He seems to know the industry as he tweets about signfiicant employees leaving/joining other game devs. But I'm not sure if he's actually got anything corroborated or accurate yet? I'll guess we'll see what that "next week" is about, but people already in the comments saying it's just because MP3 might finally get backwards compatilibity.

Just keep in mind that games have already leaked regarding back compat before this new person mentioned MP3.

Imagine thinking, that they shut down RGL because of this. It's not like they could just pull Trilogy off the store...

I don't think anything in that article is surprising. It's more than known that both T2 and R* like to work on their games a ton before even announcing them, and aren't interested in making the big non-sports franchises yearly or any more frequent, treating them like movie blockbusters.

 

Almost sure Zelnick has said this for many years now.

I do agree with this, if the issue is with content within the Trilogy I'm not sure what's the point of pulling the plug on everything. Just delist the Trilogy and make a statement there was an issue with the PC version or something.
