Really? Because after the release date announcement in T2 only listed PS5 and Series X|S for GTAO standalone in both Q4 2021 and Q1 2022 earnings reports which was in line with E&E's platforms.

Originally they wanted to release 3 DLCs for GTA V, and none of them sounded like "ubisoft route cut content". Thats like saying RDR Undead Nightmare was a natural part of the story of RDR1 and they just cut it away to sell it later lol
 

I think more likely scenerio would be a single time jump in the storyline. Similarlly to RDR2

 

You're wrong. Witcher 3 DLCs were indeed content they cut out to give away as free DLCs. This wasn't the first time it happened with videogames and it probably ain't gonna be the last.

 

I'm not saying this specifically to you, but gaming companies are NOT your friends. They have interest solely in your money. If they give something like a DLC for "free" they're doing it for marketing purposes.

Well thats a load of crap, you picked a wrong person, I literally have friends who worked at CDPR. Graphic designers, not devs, but BnW wasn't cut from the game for "marketing purposes"... The fact that you referring to it as a "free dlc" already proves you don't know what you talking about. You might be confusing your stories with those tiny free dlcs for W2 or you just making sh*t up to prove your point. 

Next thing you gonna tell me that the Netflix DLC was also cut from the main game as well (even tho the game came out before netflix witcher was even a thing) 

And sure, it happens all the time, I get your point. Doesn't mean you have to make sh*t up.

Pretty sure he was referring to Witcher 3 Expansions - Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine - and not those little additions like more haircut options, new quests etc. they added to the base game for free. Expansions sure as hell aren't cut content, and you'd have to be crazy to think they are. One of those expansions was named "best RPG" during the Game Awards.

In regards to those little free dlcs, there is no evidence they were cut content either. Sure, they are very minor additions, but it's not like they are gonna bring in any new players who weren't already interested in the game.

I don't know then, if it was only recently 'announced'. But I thought it was a given that GTA Online standalone would come to PS4/X1, as that's where the core playerbase is.

It's only been announced that E&E and GTAO standalone will come to new-gen consoles, but tbh even if they have changed their mind (or just not announced) that it will also be on last-gen, future updates will eventually be new-gen only.

It seems strange they would sell a version of standalone GTAO for consoles that don't have much life left, especially considering we know that it won't be long till new updates are current gen/PC only.

Err, I wouldn't be so sure about it. Just like Len Lfc said, that's where the core playerbase it. I can't really imagine someone buying PS5 and playing GTA Online instead of all these games, that are coming next year.

Wheter the DLCs of Witcher 3 are cut content or not doesn't matter. It doesn't invalid my point dude. And since you have friends at CDPR tell them Cyberpunk 2077 isn't fixed just yet. They have a lot of work to do.

You can cut something from the game's initial release in the planning room. Save the ideas from later. They don't to be ready at the game's initial release to be considered cut content. At least that's how I see things.

Eh, who knows. It wouldn't surprise me. But I always thought at some point they would recreate RDR1 inside of RDR2

RAGE Switch support was found in RDR2's files at release pretty much IIRC. Nobody knows what R* is doing with that but it doesn't seem to be recent. It could be just testing of sorts and the compile target (nx64) made it to RDR2's code, but it's not far fetched that they could want to get more games on the Switch including RAGE ones.

 

Edit: Tweet from FiveM's dev at the time with a remark about Vita, which never had a RAGE game.

With GTA IV Microsoft paid for SP DLC early on so Rockstar planned it into the story.  GTA V had none of that

But you can already buy GTAV which has both SP and MP on PS4/X1/PC in less than $15-20 very easily nowadays so how much exactly are they willing to charge for the standalone GTAO on last gen consoles and PC? Surely it can't be $15 or $20. 

 

 

If they gave GTAO standalone away to existing players still it doesn't make much sense since the file size is most likely going to be same with the total installation just like we've seen in RDO standalone and RDR2. I don't think Rockstar cares about file size that much lol (and you can already make a separate GTAO shortcut in PC and for console you can make in load directly into online on launch easily).

And it's not like Pro and One X would get any form of enhancement at this point in their lifecycle. So, it's all pretty odd if you ask me.

 

A bit off topic but if I was Take Two I'd make GTA Online standalone completely F2P like Warzone or Apex and add battle passes or subscriptions or something. I believe that'd bring in way more new players so more MTX revenue at the end of the day. Yes, that'd make cheating and network issues worse but that's upto Rockstar to fix.
