I hope it’s not too much like Cayo Perico, though. I remember I tried to run over the guards in the jeep while you’re driving El Rubio and there was an invisible wall.

mad.

I was in shock, fam. I had to turn the whole console off.

Cayo has many shortcomings but I assume it's more of a prototype than the final design. Red Dead 2 was criticized for one thing only and that's the linear main missions so it's natural to think they'd do things differently in future. Also I think it was practically a small test to see how map expansions work in GTAO or not.

If this was a single player mission they'd probably add a fail state for attacking the guards while driving Rubio because how else will you it justify anyway and you'll start over that section again.

Don't get how you can call it fake, he's just putting forth a theory - which weirdly makes some sense, wouldn't put it past Rockstar to do things like what he explains in the video either.

ive tried cayo perico a few times, but never finished it, I don’t know why. Played all the other ones, but it just bores me

That's why it's good to have more and less scripted missions. Imagine 100 or so Hitman alike missions...

This is something I will never understand. People complain about Ubisoft making samey games but when it comes to GTA they want new game to be like last game. What's the point?

You seriously don't get it. Here, check these pictures, do the math and figure why some fans didn't like GTA IV as much as the others.

GTA SA:

Removing content which existed in previous games for more "realism" / limited content = bad, not good. You get it now?

I thought the Episodes from Liberty City where a test by Rockstar, to see, wether the fans like a "grounded and gritty" GTA or more of "cheerful" GTA. The Lost and Damned failed the test, that's why Johnny gets killed in GTA V and most guns from TBoGT returned for V.

You are right, that's the correct V weapons list:

Ah yes. The lack of news will always result in the obvious groundbreaking V vs IV argument. It's inevitable.

As a veteran of these arguments (who realized writing essays about "why my opinion is better than yours" is pointless and a waste of time) I really hope Rockstar actually have "grown" and learned something from the two previous games.

I believe they were both necessary in the evolution of the series (although I obviously prefer V much more). But these two games better pave the way to the ultimate HD GTA that can satisfy both sides. The fans are running out of patience and with each game now taking a decade to release, Rockstar have no option but to release something really special. Or whatever f*ck it GTA ONLINE 2 FOR THE WIN.

Not really, most fans just go on with their daily lives and only check occasionally for the news. Rockstar can take their sweet time. As soon as they drop the trailer, most fans will crawl back. Quality sells.

Don't murder this thread with a pointless war between Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V.

People need to understand the games are totally different and excel at different things.  Its not reasonable to compare them.

Not every game needs to exactly alike. GTA4 went down a different direction with a different tone. And GTAV removed lots of details and activities that SA/IV had. Doesn’t make it a bad game.

IV and V have both far superior gun handling than SA.

those weapons feel completely different to each other compared to SA. refresh your memory a little bit

We are arguing over variety here, not graphics or physics (no sh*t IV and V have better tech). As you can see you have eight categories in IV - two weapons for each category. For instance, if you want to use a pistol, you get to choose between a Glock or a Desert Eagle. A "weaker" gun vs a "more powerful" gun. Yes, the Glock has a higher fire rate, but the high damage of the DE makes it obsolete to use. You can't even customize these guns or put silencer on them. It lacks the variety and fun.

In SA (and V) you have a better variety of guns to use. A remote C4 definitely feels different to a RPG. Using a minigun has another gameplay feel to it, than using an assault rifle. Frying people with the flamethrower brings another kind of fun than using a fire extinguisher. Executing people with a knife is completely different to going with a chainsaw on a mayhem. Now get this, you can also use these "weapons" for other things like: extinguish fire, tag gang signs, burn fields, gift your friends, etc. Furthermore, the game allows you to dual wield weapons by improving your weapons skill, adding another layer of fun. I think, it's YOU whom needs to refresh their memory a bit.

Yes, it's funny to shoot weapons out of NPCs hands or watch NPCs react to 9mm wounds by going "insta drunk" and flop all around, but I prefer the weapon variety of SA and V. And this was just an example of what I meant with the term variety. There is also a greater variety of vehicles, clothing and map design in SA or V, but I thought you guys could figure that yourself.

I define myself more of an "old school" gamer. I lived through the time were Rockstar was mainly known for their gameplay and not only for their physics or storytelling. GTA III released couple of months before Mafia 1. While Mafia 1 definitely had the better story, graphics and soundtrack, it couldn't surpass the free roam gameplay of GTA III. If Rockstar wants to go the Mafia route and emphasize their storytelling over their gameplay by adding a senseless chapter system to GTA and remove content in favor of the story, so be it.

By weapon variety do you mean 120 pistols and a few rifles that all feel the same?

so groundbreaking. GTA4 is in shambles

GTASA had better and more weapons, missions, vehicles, and activities than a game that came out 9 years after it. And that’s without any DLC either

The franchise evolved , R* said it themselves there that the combination of core gameplay elements were very very radical at the time. Nowdays the main story , the side missions , the music , the city itself , piloting planes and boats rather than just cars , owning properties , businesses etc etc are all what make GTA today , the game is not just driving and shooting.

Now, let me preface this by saying that I agree with you and I think it's legitimate.

What bothers me is that you're using one of Strange Man's previous (questionable and unsubstantiated) videos to prove that his GTA VI video is legitimate. This is the same mistake that people had made with regard to the fake maps and things "lining up."

"This all lines up, so it must be real despite the dubious origins of the source material."

you are right with your statement and your skepticism (after what happened in the last years with those rumours).

but my intention wasnt to prove its completely true but to show a red line in R* games. they often tease upcoming games. still not saying this is the case now.

it might be true, yes, but we will find out after the release of VI if it was BS
