Unfortunately it seems you have received inaccurate information,

the tax reports clearly show that Rockstar North actually loses money and requires tens of millions in government tax relief

The good news is games are starting to become faster to make again, dev tools and environments are easier to spring up and 5 years for big games like Elder Scrolls, gta 6, and Starfield is very realistic. 

 

The issue is pre production , how long is the game in pre production for.  Red Dead 2 took along time because the vision & scope seemed to keep getting bigger from what they had planned during pre production. My guess is this is why some of the Rockstar Vets are leaving, a lot of them are still practicing old school tactics that worked in the earlier days when game scope was smaller. But with so many moving parts nowadays, you really need a solid pre production without many changes during development. Because as the scope changes, the engine has to be reworked to match the scope, and this leads to lots of bugs and issues. 

 

This is all a guess on my part, but the fact gta 6 is not out yet is a little worrying, even with Red Dead 2 releasing in 2017. Seems again, Rockstar cant really come to a consensus internally between management, leaders, and shareholders on scope and vision. Maybe carrying over online from 5 to 6 is also something they did not expect. 

 

Maybe Tez or Jason will talk about this once the game is released. I really want to know why its taking so long.

i went to Edinburgh castle and dynamic earth a few years ago and was very impressed to see their office, i didn't realize that was it until someone told me.

Gta 6 will be teased with logo change probably to pink . Then they will tweet #VI and that's it , a week later  1 minute teaser trailer and it will happen in 2022 oct , release date 2023 Oct and then delayed 2024 Oct . if i was to bet on something it will be this . GTA VI online release 4 or 5 months after gta 6 release this time around i feel like they may learn from the horrible start to rdr2 online and Gta 5 online

Two main characters would be good, but they need to be separated. They need to have their own stories which are somehow connected, but not like in Grand Theft Auto V. More like in Grand Theft Auto IV and the Episodes.

 

Each of these characters should have at least 60 missions, and so on.

 

Seriously, a cop and a criminal would be great choice.
