They were absolutely accurate, based on the information he had. He literally had one of the trailers DICE were using internally. The problem is, everyone ignores what he said that was accurate, and instead focus on what he said that wasn't accurate. Example; All of the documents, the trailer and info that he had access to only ever referred to the game as just "Battlefield". But everything he spoke about was true. But because it turned out it was called "Battlefield 2042" people just look at it and think he was wrong.

I know, right? Who would have thought we'd be waiting more than a year just to get a glimpse of E&E footage lol, I used to hope for GTA VI Announcement in Late 2020 but now I just want anything, literally anything other GTA O and RDO content and I'll be happy. It's not very hard to impress a fan like me but they're doing a bad job at doing that. 

 

Why bother announcing something when you can't even show it's real footage even after more than a year from that point?

 

Then why not announce the "surprise" for GTA III's 20th anniversary now, that it's less than 4 months away? It's ridiculous how they're holding back from announcing something that's allegedly coming in October but announced E&E more than a year before release.

I'd rather have a drought like this and then a massive info explosion, than intermittent long periods of info drought like GTA V that would drive the current Rockstar community into having aneurysms even more.

 

Some of you were here for it but most weren't and this forum was already crazy back then about it. Imagine now.

With time, knowledge and some disappointements they'll learn how to manage hype and expectations.
Then, when it's all gone, you can just start having fun with it.

same sh*t happened with V. There were leaks way before any official info that named the protagonists(Michael, Trevor, and Albert de Silva in the leaks) and the location being los Santos. People still to this day believe that leak is bogus but I know that whoever it was was going off internal information that they believed to be true at the time

going back to scouting leak a find the letter on reddit suspect . 

but the podcast len lfc found credit there i do found credible it was may 2019 that was released if im correct . 

it would be around the time rockstar would have started doing the map if we assume gta 6 started production main wise anyway in 2018 when rdr 2 wrapped. 

and  i dont think  rockstar after there last three games gta v rdr 1 and 2  doing just south florida aka a larger lemoyne would be a major step back from  gta v . 

more so for   there first main game on this gen . 

 

just a blaine county like area i expect nothing major to the story  just for map diversity

You've completely misunderstood what diversity, equality and inclusion means.

 

It has nothing to do with deleting content deemed offensive, controversial or provocative.

apparently they started early development for gta vi in 2012, production in 2015 and cgi in 2018. like they started development for rdr2 in 2010. they always start working on their next games shortly after the release of the last one in the series. i don't think it's just going to be south florida either but they should go all out if it's going to last for a decade, different cities could be added with updates or with the standalone version of online. it doesn't have to be the whole usa but different areas of the states that fit with the story or linear missions like san andreas. they are very good at mocking rural and small-town america. if i were to guess, they've probably finished it: music, artwork, etc and the bosses are most likely playing it and waiting for the perfect time to announce it, hence the reason for game testers and other jobs.

I was around back then and yes the forums could be quite toxic, but the thing is, at least R* we're still communicating with the fans. Hell, I think they even called out the 2405 theory lol.

 

Rockstar back in mid 2012 weren't relying on microtransactions to real profit, and it was assumed they were working on many more projects. It's not comparable.

Right now I'd kill just for a logo. I completely expect a 12 month drought. Just to know the game exists and a hint at its focus, that will keep us going a little!

Do the leaks and discoveries not do that for you, though? Genuinely asking, here. I get it and feel we largely agree and feel the same way on most things. But for me, knowing what we know through discoveries and the actual real leaks (Employee CV's not the BS reddit leaks) we know the game exists. Not to mention common sense, of course GTA VI exists ). Knowing that, I'm actually a lot more relaxed about it. Although... I'm not happy about being in my mid 30's when the game actually releases...

Let me rephrase! Hearing it exists from Rockstar with a logo will be enough! At least I can start to predict which of my 30s it'll be released in . That's what I mean.

Oh, I got that. I guess what I should ask is a question. Why, for you personally, is what we currently 'know' not enough? Because it's not like it's even a question if it exists or not. We know it does. For me, that is enough. An official announcement is amazing, but all that really does is signify the game is at most 2 years away from release.

 

I suppose it's the deference between need and want. I don't need an announcement. I just want one. I suppose you need one, in addition to wanting one lol
