I thought the original RDR2 story, locations etc. leaks popped up on Reddit and not 4chan tbh.

Regardless, I guess people or even the writer themselves could've taken screenshots when those posts surfaced? Dunno.

I think they chose Cuba over Colombia, Mexico, etc, because it's an island and it's smaller. They will focus all the workforce on Vice City and leave Cuba as a small place. And who knows, maybe it won't even be Cuba but something totally fictional like Cayo Perico.

the same reason as when you see really old greentexts all the time. some one took a screenshot at the time (april 2016) just in case the map leak was real (it just happened to turn out it was) people overlooked the GTA stuff because everyone was focused on Red Dead at the time, now it's being brought back because people are over RDR and are focused on GTA again. for what's it worth i vaguely remember the RDR map being leaked on 4chan and everyone calling bullsh*t, that was probably this thread. This seems like the most legit synopsis for GTA6 to me, people are just going to bitch and deny because they are desperate for 80's or whatever, much like the people in that 4chan thread were adamant RDR 2 wasn't going to be like what that guy said and it turned to to be exactly like that. Also I'm guessing the "other location" won't be cuba it will just be an amalgamation of Caribbean/south american island, they clearly already tested the waters with Guarma. So get ready for modern day Vice City drug smuggling in GTA 6

Yeah, I don't think we ever had a story leak for RDR2 on 4chan, correct me if I'm wrong but this was the only legit story leak RDR2 had :

It's possible those screenshots were faked by the author of the article for maybe getting clicks(?). It's not that hard to fake a 4chan thread in a world where fake leakers make satellite maps with effort. But like I said so far everything that the leaker says in those screenshots are backed up by something else and makes sense (female protagonist, modern day and drug smuggling from an island, these aren't anything new and are backed up by other leaks, plus they make sense) which leads me to think maybe they used those leaks as their basis. 

 

Even their year of GTA VI pre-production, etc sounds pretty reasonable, though. Just saying, it's not something that can't be faked.

Has anyone even seen the original Reddit post or comment where someone leaked RDR2's story? I've only seen the comment that you linked in the post. I've never seen tha 4chan post either.

Following how Rockstar generally go about announcing and marketing their games, I think something more along the lines of:

- Announced 2022

- Silence until 2023

- Delayed twice during 2024

- Release in 2025

- PC announcement 2026

- PC version delayed in 2026

- PC version release 2027

Look I want this leak to be true as all it describes is all I want GTA6 to be. Modern times, Vice City, drug smuggling, 2 protagonists...

I just hope they won't pull the same sh*t they did with the PC version of V, holyhell that was hell itself, they kept a hold of it until it was out on two console generations and then delayed it three times until it came to PC. Which brings me to the question is VI going to release for current and new consoles? if so then it seems it's going to be another hellhole for us PC only gamers unless they plan to release it for both consoles at the same time or simply release it for the new ones only, either way they will make us wait just to ensure they get some people to double dip.

I've also never seen a legit leak where the "leaker" stays to argue with people in their thread. Most just post it up, crack an egg of knowledge, and leave. Continual exposure is not a good thing when you've signed an NDA.

Thats not the point (yes hes right on all that) the point is you can fake a 4chan thread. Its hard & difficult. But there are good fakes in the past.

 

Its sketchy that this leak suddenly pops up after 5 years and getting well promoted on diffrent social media by one person. But nobody talked about it in the past.

Looks pretty legit on the surface. Zello said Cuba is all authoritarian, so no drug smuggling is possible, but I don't know. Maybe, modern-day Cuba is different; hell, maybe it's not even really Cuba, but some made up island partially inspired by it.(Cayo Perico expanded and enhanced???) 

What I know for sure is that a lot of it could've been scrapped and redone since 2016. It's been a long time.

Oh you don't want to know how many screenshots I have... The idea that someone took a screenshot of a 4chan leak and still has it is the most realistic thing about it all, tbh. I do it all the time.

I’m assuming it’s not going to be set in the 80s cos the trilogy remaster rumours are probably true?

 

I think Miami in the present day would be interesting tho and you just know Rockstar would make it work. 
 

Now with the trilogy remasters. Do you think it’s possible they are going to release each remaster on its anniversary? So Vice City was 2002 right? Maybe they will announce VI alongside it given it’s the same setting? Probably clutching at straws but just a thought.

lets be realistic, Juan is only robbed 2-3 times. R* just made a biggest character for there Alternate narcos and he obviously will play a big role if narcos story rumor is not fake
