They weren't full price, just the whole trilogy cost 60 dollars/euros when it was released, with the Mafia remake being priced at 40 dollars. Imo, if you didn't own any of these games then 60 dollars for the trilogy wasn't that bad of a price tag.

Look at all the promotions they currently have. They're giving away so much money to literally anyone. It wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Yeah, but that is kinda necessary now to make new players catch up and not lose interest,  but when the new online arrives there wont be no one to catch up to   (for a while)

They have to. GTA Online is a live service and PC players paid for access to it years ago and T2 is making insane amount of money on shark cards, not on game sales. Anything different would result in bigger backlash than this industry have ever seen. Not to mention, that PC players would suddenly lose access to GTA Online what means, that they wouldn't have reason to buy shark cards.

They probably will discontinue current PC version and sale the E&E version at full price then. Existing players will get the upgrade for free, unless they want PC players to pay twice.

That would be weird. PC players were upgrading their PCs for years to be able to keep playing GTA Online. Can you imagine Cayo Perico Heist on something like this?

With GTAV Rockstar/T2 are like the god of gods when it comes to make the fans pay for the same thing more than once, by the time E&E is released they will have some people paying them for the same game for the fourth time, four times for the same game people got it first on PS3 then PS4 then PC and now they gonna get the PS5 version and maybe they will make E&E for the PC version separate from the current PC version and if that's the case GTAV will have five versions.

 

Holysh*t it actually makes sense since it's V it means five times holyhell how did i miss it.

Don't forget about character models and all of this. It's every artist's dream to remake x360/ps3 assets to make them look like PS5/XSX assets...

gta 4 multiplayer existed and R* prefered a fresh start for gta V online , but gta online is not a multiplayer mode of gta V it's most likely a different game , maybe gta O2 ? a fresh start ? 
i guess the same gta online will be ported in VI's engine , Leslie said We want it to be known as a different entity, a separate thing, and it'll grow on its own. It'll be GTA Online; It's not part of GTA V. Obviously it's set in the GTA V engine, but it's going to grow and evolve into its own thing."   E&E might be a different engine only for gta online, gta online's protagonist is canon and the protag exists in the gta timeline imo

Not me though, Rockstar won't make me pay a fourth time for gtaV

Hold your horses. Regarding this demo you need to keep in mind few things:

 

- what they showed here was rather UE5 tech showcase, not that much gameplay demo

- this scene compared to GTA environments is dead simple, there are basically no reflections here, no vegetation, there is very little variety between assets, it's very, very easy to control this compared to cities in GTA

- interactivity of what they showed here reminds me early 2000's PC games and almost completely static environments is not something what people expect from new generation

- last but not least, source of this project, that they showed today takes over 100GB on SSD

Don't think they will do another RDR, maybe Bully II or a new IP.

 

The real question, however, will we live long enough to see R* next game after GTA VI?

you guys and girls are talking a lot of sense when it comes to GTA Online characters transferring over to whatever it will be when GTA 6 drops. 

 

I tend to think a reset will be necessary. 

 

But do you think this will happen with E&E ? 

 

I get a bit confused here because it makes sense to me that things will transfer for E&E, but I also agree that a fresh start would be best for when 6 is out and GTAO becomes whatever it will be.
