Angler Role [Concept]

Since we had this Fishing Event week, and Rockstar has been using the term Angler — I thought it would be cool if there was an Angler Role added to the game. Here's a list of things I came up with that might be cool additions to RDO if such a role were added.

 

Angler Role Concept

For players that enjoy the lure of fishing, the Angler Role advances the opportunities, skills and tools more accomplished fisherman desire.

 

• Introduction of Legendary Fish: catch these rare finds by bringing a vessel into open waters with advanced skills to make the big catch and unlock trophies that can be mounted on the side of your camp tent
• Angler Camp Theme: a themed designed to match your fishing expeditions
• Bespoke Fishing Rod: lets Anglers design and customize it to their sense of style
• Fishing Apparel: to show-off that you’re the best Angler around, and keep you dry when walking in waist-high water
• Canoe Unlocked: Anglers can purchase a canoe which holds 2 passengers for fishing out in the water
• Skill Upgrade: Quick Reel which lets experienced Anglers catch their fish quicker
• Skill Upgrade: Bow Fishing proficiency allows Anglers the ability to use bows while sitting in a canoe or skiff to catch fish and scoop them up with a net
• Fishing Net Unlocked: used to catch fish when in a boat or along the water’s edge to snatch-up your fresh catch
• Satchel Upgrade: carry more live bait for longer fishing adventures
• Skiff Unlocked: Anglers can purchase a skiff that holds multiple passengers and can haul large fish, like multiple Muskies and can operate Crabbing Cages
• Crabbing Cage and Throwlines: to catch those tasty Cuban Land Crabs
• Skill Upgrade: underwater swimming, you can hold your breath to dive underwater briefly to set and collect crabbing cages and any fish that may have sunk below the water’s surface
• Fishing Themed Accessories: show how much you love Angling with themed sunglasses, belt-buckles and gun equipment
• Satchel Upgrade: carry more dynamite for when using a fishing rod and line becomes too pedestrian
• Skill Upgrade: because your more adept at aquatic-life you consume less stamina while swimming and able to grab floating fish and small animal carcasses when swimming
• Steam Ship Unlocked: Anglers can purchase a mid-sized steamboat used to venture out into deeper waters to catch huge legendary fish as well as go crabbing
• Skill Upgrade: using dynamite to fish has a chance to not reduce fish quality from 3 Stars to 1 Star because your skills are better at tossing explosives so as not to destroy the fruits of your labor
• Skill Upgrade: swimming to you is like being in your natural habitat; therefore, your sea legs allow you to swim faster, hold your breath longer underwater and use melee weapons or revolvers/pistols when swimming
