What y'all think about Saints Row series? 
My fav is Saints Row 2

They're pretty good games. Hot take, but I actually enjoyed 3 and 4.

Me too, but damn they cut this games in so many ways after part 2

I won't mind either way, but I really hope they go back to the "Gangsta" timeline of the franchise. It's the most interesting to me.

I liked the first two for being alternatives to the GTA series. The more "goofy sci-fi" approach of the later games really isn't my cup of tea though I can tolerate them in small doses. In saying that I feel the series only has limited legs literally focussing its theme on one gang. It would be like if the entire GTA series was called "Grove Street Families" or something.

 

IMO it needs to scrap the over the top sci fi elements and do a remake/reboot of the first couple of games where they were more crime games.

I loved the first two games. I actually prefer the first one a bit more than the second one. I liked how they focused more on the streets and gangs than GTA has though it does have it's cheesy moments.

 

I hate 3 and 4 and the direction that they decided to take it in.

My favorite is actually the first game. I think it hit the sweet spot between the wackiness of San Andreas and the realism of GTA IV, with plenty of side missions and dynamic features which I'm surprised wasn't carried over to Saints Row 2, like the adverts for store discounts, ability to buy different types of booze and drugs and the Fence side mission. The licensed soundtrack was also really diverse and had the best selection of tracks, The Rock, The Faction, K12, The Krunch and KRhyme helped me appreciate and discover a lot of artists like Masta Ace, Camp Lo, Slum Village, Wu-Tang Clan, early Fall Out Boy, Ratt, Slaughter, New Years Day, Evil Nine, Dieselboy, Jane's Addiction and Ned's Atomic Dustbin, and I really liked how they had actual American radio personalities like Kat Corbett lending their voices as the radio hosts, probably the most authentic depiction of American radio in gaming in recent memory. SR2 was really fun and replayable as well but I felt that the music wasn't too serious with respect to the game's relatively dark tone and I wasn't a fan of the driving.
