Political easter eggs in 2021

In GTA Vice City (2002), an easter egg features a picture of Reagan shooting a target drawn on a picture of Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev. Or in GTA IV (2008) there is the face of Hillary Clinton in the Statue of Liberty. As of today, would you imagine what would happen in a society so fragmented and polarized if Rockstar posts images of politician in GTA 6?

The Vice City Easter Egg works well because some time had passed, conclusions had already been made, and it was satirical in nature. That said I'm sure someone took offence to it.

I'd like to imagine Rockstar would still take aim at political figures even in the present day despite the current climate, but they would likely do it in such a way that it couldn't be perceived as favouring one side or the other.

 

GTA isn't overtly political though. If anything, I imagine they'd probably satirise Fox News and CNN if anything, having reporters from either side taking jabs at each other - that could be good.

 

It's an interesting question.

Jock Cranley was based on Donald Trump before his run of presidency. I imagine there will be someone similar to Biden. As long as people realise it's satire that's likely dumb and stupid and not rockstar specifically taking a side.
