KristianD3
I'm starting a thread about film references In Red Dead Redemption. As you may know, red dead redemption is packed with movie references. I will do my best to document them here. You can send your findings in the comments! First of all: Hats: (Django Unchained 2012) (The Dollars Trilogy 1964,1965/1966) (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid (1969) I'll add every finding to the list. reeversky, Pinto77, billiejoearmstrong8 and 1 other
Old Man With No Name
Django's hat got even same brown color in the game. You can also, recreate his outfit almost same. I'm also, western movie fan. Here is my examples Dutch's Gang / Ben Wade's Gang from 3:10 to Yuma Ben Wade / Dutch Van Der Linde (Both are almost same charismatic leader) Charlie Prince / Micah Bell (Both are leaders right hand man. Also Ben Wade kills Charlie at the end. Just like Dutch kills Micah for the same reason. Also Ben Wade and Charlie Prince kills a guy just like they did for arthur in the good ending) William Munny / Hosea Matthews (These two almost same. Both are retired from outlaw life because of they married. Also both are returned to an outlaw life because their wife is death) English Bob / Jim Boy Calloway (Both are fameous gunslingers from the old west. But all they do is lying about the past. Both are awful gunslingers) Writer from the unforgiven / Evelyn Miller Rancher John Marston Outfit / Wood Hite from Assassination of Jesse James Andrew Milton / Thomas Critterden (Both are pinkerton agents) Van Der Linde Gang Artwork / Magnificent Seven Arthur Morgan / Bernardo O'Reilly (Both are big tough guys in their crew) Lee from Magnificent Seven / John Marston Artwork (Just same outfit) Sundance Kid Outfit / Young John Marston Outfit Candyland / Braithwaite Manor (both manors burning down in the end) Clint Eastwood / Badass John Marston from RDR1 (They ruined john marston in RDR2) Last duel (both RDR2 and Good Bad Ugly got same trio duel ending) John Marston's entrance to the town / Clint Eastwood's entrance to the town Fameous Train Robbery scene from Assassination of Jesse James Calvin from Django / Desmond Blythe from Boat Robbery mission (both characters looks like each other) Django 1966 fort attack scene / RDR1 Fort Mercer Attack scene (I couldnt find video from django movie but these both scenes looks like each other. Django hides in the gatling gun wagon and enters the fort with prostitutes. In RDR1, John Marstons hides gatling gun wagon and enters the fort with Nigel West Dickenses snake oil advertising Edited April 9, 2021 by GroveStGTAV high noon, billiejoearmstrong8, Pinto77 and 4 others

RJX74
John's Winter Outfit is based on the one the protagonist wears in The Great Silence. (Credits mannishman11 from reddit) The Sheepskin Vest has a similar pattern to the vest a Man with No Name wears. (Notice the way the fleece sticks out more on the right). dandroid, KristianD3, billiejoearmstrong8 and 2 others
dandroid
Great thread. I don't have any screen caps, but I felt like I noticed a few visual references watching SHANE recently.

I don't have any screen caps, but I felt like I noticed a few visual references watching SHANE recently. My name's not Shane, kid! Maybe not a movie reference, but there's an old Amiga game called "The Town With No Name", where the protagonist can kill a child for calling him "Shane". In RDR2 there is a bounty target named Shane Finley, who is wanted among other things for child murder. Seems like it kinda correlates. dandroid, Old Man With No Name and KristianD3
Peckinpah
I always felt this image was invoking the artwork for the Wild Bunch, probably a nod to The Magnificent 7 too. Also, not a film reference, but... dandroid, tonko, KristianD3 and 2 others
Cutter De Blanc
I mean when Arthur and Dutch jump into the river in Favored Sons, that sh*t's straight out of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid Edited May 19, 2021 by Cutter De Blanc Old Man With No Name and dandroid
