Komi
Hi folks, thanks for having me on the forum. I recently ordered a copy of GTA V for PS3, I haven't really played a GTA game since the PS2 era so I have a few questions about this one if folks could help me out These questions are all about the single-player mode, not online. Question 1: Is it important for your character to sleep or eat in this game? For example could I play as a character for 10 in-game days straight without having them sleep in a safehouse or eat food and have no consequences for them? I remember in San Andreas eating was necessary for your character, don't remember about sleep... Question 2: I've heard that you can purchase properties/businesses in this game. Can anyone tell me whether properties can serve as save points? It would be handy to have other places to save on the map without having to trek back to a Safehouse each time. Question 3: Could anyone share a list of side missions/activities that are available in the countryside areas of the map? The rural parts of San Andreas were my favourite places to hang out in that game, but they felt fairly empty compared to the city locations, so I'm wondering if GTA V has much for you to do to in the rural locations? Guest
Q1: Eating and sleeping aren't necessary. Interacting with the bed in the safehouse is only used for saving your game, vending machines exist just for refilling your health. Q2: Businesses can't be used as save points. In addition to saving your game in your safehouse, there is also a quick save feature in the in-game phone that you can use. Q3: There are off-road races and jetski races, parachute jumps, collectibles, you can go hunting as Trevor and there are also some random characters you can meet and do missions for in the countryside. Interesting to hear about the quick-save feature, that would be very handy. So can you use it anywhere on the map while free-roaming?

The game also autosaves your progress in a separate save slot every time after you complete a mission.

Is there any way to save boats the way you'd save a car in a garage? Would be nice not to have to track down a jet-ski or whatever each time I rebooted the game. Also can vehicles be saved at businesses, or only at safehouses? I've heard that you aren't able to buy extra safehouses in this game like you could in San Andreas, so I'm wondering if I'd need to trek back to the default safehouse each time I wanted to store a vehicle, or if there would be other places to easily store it for the next time I played. There is a dock in Los Santos you can purchase and you can keep a watercraft stored there. 4 minutes ago, Komi said: Also can vehicles be saved at businesses, or only at safehouses? There is a separate 4-car interior garage for each of the three protagonists you can purchase in addition to having safehouse garages. Businesses sadly don't come with additional garage space though. (I know how he acquires it, just trying not to give anything away)
