Steelhead and Bass wade here in shallow waters. I bow fish with small game arrows.

 

Sidenote: Steelhead's can be sold as whole carcasses, when that daily challenge is on the list.

Best I've found in game is Blackwater, not far from the dock and a bit (South?) of the Butcher.

If you look at the map, you'll see that long dock then the area I'm talking about is the big open

rectangle.

 

If you hold the pole, then track, you'll see Lake Sturgeon. What I do is park my Hunting Wagon there, though the

butcher is like 20 feet away, catch 5 of them and sell for $36 (plus 50 percent more now!) If you don't want to be right there, because players

might bug you, a bit farther South just before that big white house is a good place where you go down to the water

(can even bright a wagon right up to that) and can catch them there; if you look at the map, this is the next

area below the big open rectangle, south of the dock (on the map, it looks like this is the bottom of a "mouth."

There is even a THIRD spot there, the big round area on the map which is just to the left of the "F" in

"Flat." This would be just South of that big, white house.

 

That place is unique, in that it is SO close to the Butcher; you are near enough it would even be worth it to

catch the Sturgeon then just walk over to him (but better with the wagon, of course.) The other ones are

even pretty close, if using a Hunting Wagon.

 

Northern Pike pays more, but I can't think of a spot so close to a Butcher.

 

I've never really had players mess with me there either, on Xbox One.

 

For regular fish, besides the trout people mention, my favorite for Salmon has

always been under Bacchus Bridge where you can ride down to the water; there

are Salmon like crazy. That is where I made TONS of money, in the online beta, before

they nerfed the Salmon price. The only problem was that, back then, people saw you

on the map so they'd come over when bored and shoot you...

 

 

$54.35, for the 5 Lake Sturgeon right now

(fishing them at Blackwater, with Hunting wagon, after did dailies     )

Great trout spot right by Harriet in Hennigans Stead's northeast corner by the waterfall.  Problem is: they put Harriet there

I have something like 40 river ones and such, bought max amounts from the catalog

when getting the 1-X for "purchased" and "looted from camp box/mail."

They never seem to break? I mean, I still have 40. Oh, max on the special

lures too.

 

I did not realize you could reset those until 4 months ago; now I'm

getting that .4 gold a lot. I'm almost kind of glad, since it feels better after

the dailies nerf (from when you could continue .5 gold for all dailies forever.)

I had some free time Saturday morning, so I picked up the controller and logged into RDO.  I looked at the dailies and did a quick one(crafting 5 items at the wilderness camp).  As soon as I completed it I realized what I had done.  I forgot about the weekly promotion and now I am going to get stuck with those damn lures.

Where these people getting this info? When I go to newswire and stuff Rockstar

is still not saying anything about it.

 

Oh, guess this is just what people are noticing in game.

R* Support won't fix this. I made it easy for them and emptied my lockbox of everything except those damned Special Lures and they just could reset the mailbox, but they informed me that this couldn't be done...

 

...the same people who once removed a player's "rusty" Hunting Knife at their request (thus breaking the game) suddenly can't empty a mailbox of the items that they should never have put there in the first place? It's ridiculous.
