BennyGod
I found this myth on the GTA myths wiki about a Banshee spawning in the Cedar Grove Woods. I've never seen this though. Am I missing something, or is this just BS? It says "proven." https://gta-myths.fandom.com/wiki/Abandoned_Vehicle_(GTA_III) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/970413-abandoned-car-myth/ Share on other sites
Blaze
Take anything you read on fan made wikia's/trivia pages with a hefty grain of salt, the amount of false information that gets repeated and accepted as truth is astounding. It lists it as being proven, but by who exactly? The "proof" is a screenshot of a Banshee inbetween two buildings, which any player could replicate. Definite BS. Just as some extra proof, here is a link to GTA3's main scm: http://zazmahall.de/ZAZGTASANATORIUM/DL/Extra/gta3-orig-main.txt The main scm handles everything from missions to vehicle spawning, and If you search the scm for "banshee", you will find four results in the section which handles vehicle spawning: 014B: $450 = init_parked_car_generator #BANSHEE -1 -1 0 alarm 0 door_lock 0 0 10000 at 1233.063 -127.1875 15.0 angle 38.0 014B: $526 = init_parked_car_generator #BANSHEE -1 -1 0 alarm 80 door_lock 0 0 10000 at 477.5625 -731.375 -100.0 angle 90.0 014B: $535 = init_parked_car_generator #BANSHEE -1 -1 0 alarm 80 door_lock 0 0 10000 at 476.0625 -1496.375 -100.0 angle 220.0 014B: $589 = init_parked_car_generator #BANSHEE -1 -1 0 alarm 80 door_lock 0 0 10000 at -755.0 204.25 27.6875 angle 179.8125 These four locations correlate to Capital Autos, Asukas Condo, Kenji's Casino and a parking lot near Wichita Gardens, the scm has no other reference to the Banshee. It says "proven." https://gta-myths.fandom.com/wiki/Abandoned_Vehicle_(GTA_III) A year ago I tried to check out that myth, but I was too dumb and kept roaming around the area displayed in the photo in hopes of finding such spawned Banshee, not realizing it's just a photo showing what a Banshee looks like in GTA III. Besides, the Banshee in the photo is in pristine condition. Next time I install GTA III, I'm gonna check out the myth at Cedar Grove Woods, where it's supposed to be. And the article says it spawns in the woods supposedly when the Banshee was heading towards Porter Tunnel, and that's close to Wichita Gardens. So, one has to check most of East SSV, because the exact location isn't stated (there may be a glitch with the coordinates of Wichita Gardens parking lot, making a Banshee spawn in the woods sometimes). I'd start in the camping area in East SSV. Off-topic, I bumped into your discover of Fort Carson exploding motorbike, @BennyGod: "https://gta-myths.fandom.com/wiki/Fort_Carson_exploding_motorcycle" Congratulations, you're famous, dude! The article says Portland Tunnel, I'm not sure if it's an error or it actually refers to the Darkel Gang Tunnel in Portland. I can promise you that one is real. But I'm going to edit the banshee one as fake, since it's pretty obvious by now that someone made it up for some reason.
