Is The Mission "Luigi's Girls" A Mockery Of Nintendo?

Recommended Posts

Smash Bandicoot

-The guy who gives you the mission is called "Luigi"

-The mission is about taking a girl, which is similar to how most Nintendo games have you rescue a damsel-in-distress.

-The name of the prostitute you pick up is "Misty", kind of odd, but not only that, she also has short ginger hair.

-Unrelated, but Mickey being named Mickey might also be a mockery of Disney, which also ties into the children's media mockery.

What do you think, is this just a big stretch? GTA 3 has some weird f*cking Newgrounds type humor, so this isn't that big of one.

Can I just say that I find these “similarity” threads absolutely hilarious?

It’s like you don’t have anything better to do other than trying to make the most paper thin connections with things. It done it in for me when you said Niko’s a parody of Nikola Tesla.

What’s next? Love Fist is a parody of Donald Love because “Love” is in their name or maybe Mercedes-Benz paid R* for some product placement in Vice City literally naming one of the characters “Mercedes”?😉

Wait, what?

Can you give me a clear explanation?

This opens up another theory: what if Salvatore's name was fake, and his real name is actually GTA III's equivalent of Mario? It makes so much sense;

  • He is Italian.
  • He is Luigi's boss.
  • He has a big mustache.

Yeah, and he changed his name when coming to America like Vito Andolini did in The Godfather II:

"- Who are you?

- Vito Andolini from Corleone.

- Vito Corleone."

Come on XD

Seriously, though, I wouldn't be surprised if Luigi's name was a mockery of Luigi from the Super Mario Bros. franchise (even though it's most likely not a too rare Italian name after all), but the mission Luigi's Girls overall? Not quite frankly.

You should see his thread about how he believes VCS isn't canon. It's hard trying to take some of Smash Bandicoots threads seriously at times.

Everything you just said is outright unbelievable. How did you actually even think that R* would go that far just for some inside joke? I guess some people here need to learn the differences between "similarity" and "coincidence"...

Ironically enough, there is a Mario reference in Vice City where one of the Vercetti mafia members calls out Mario.

The Toni on Flashback and Flash FM is really Toni Cipriani?

Boy, and my family tells me they are sick of me seeing parodies on every TV show episode we watch at lunch/dinner. But you outdo me, way up, almost all your threads are about parodies or supposed ties between GTA characters and real life persons lol

Holy sh*t go outside

I can't believe the movie Taken is actually a reference to Nintendo games and Tony Basil's hit song Hey Mickey is a mockery of Disney.

My name is Luca. I hope that at least some of you got the reference, but oh well, in case it goes beyond your limited minds, Ray Boccino's henchman from GTA IV, Luca, is a mockery of me. Rockstar Games had the balls to make a mockery of me. Whenever I play GTA IV and I go through ''Taking out the Trash'' and ''Meltdown'', I always die a little on the inside. Fortunately for me, I struck a deal with Rockstar Games. Just because of those 2 horrendous missions, they pay me $500,000 every single month since the release of GTA IV. That's why they have been parading around the same game ever since 2013 and why there is no mobile version for GTA Vice City Stories. My humble apologies to all of you.

I doubt it, Rockstar's many things but subtle sure isn't one of them, if they were going to mock Nintendo they'd make it really really obvious. See all the attacks on the Driver series.

He used to be a defender for the Italy national team in the late 90s and early 00s.

I used to joke around with my cousins. Comparing the characters to Pokémon. Claude was a grown up Ash. Misty from Pokémon shared the name, and also the the hair color. Probably because we were playing Pokémon before jumping to gta iii as the first mature game.

We used to use the weapons cheat code to get a sniper to aim at Misty. We noticed that her character was extremely high detailed in comparison to any other character model. Her polygon count was off the charts.

I definitely agree with the Luigi name, being an Italian name that is recognizable because of the Mario game.
