Algonquin Assassin
I don't think there's a thread on this. Anyway is anyone with a PS5 thinking about picking it up? It releases on April 30 and looks like it's the first major PS5 exclusive release for the year. It has some serious Death Stranding blended with Control vibes going on. Basically we play as this space pilot named Selene and she gets stranded on an alien planet called Atropos. She gets stuck in a time loop and after every death she gets resurrected while the environment changes. It sounds awesome on paper and looks great in some of the trailers that have been released so far.
LittleJesus
The gameplay is to fast paced for my liking but the best of luck to Housemarque & PlayStation. Algonquin Assassin

Yeah. I’ve never played a roguelike game before, but this one really interests me and I’m always up for trying different games from different genres. Tez2
Just tried out this game. It's truly a next-gen game as the reviews claimed. The haptic feedback is damn fascinating. Returning to the intro area upon dying is an interesting concept and the environment changing each time you die. The regular enemies themselves aren't much of a big challenge, so you can easily escape them or deal with them. The only issue I have is that it doesn't differentiate between dying and saving the game. Like if you died, then that's understandable that you would lose progress. But, if you didn't die, you should at least be able to save where you stopped at. Because atm, if you wanted to like finish the game, you would have to devote like 2-4 hours for a single playthrough. pingli
It's just funny to see that this is pretty much first ever Roguelike game to many people and that many people don't understand the idea of permadeath challenge. I assume that's the reason AAA devs in general don't do this type of game more often. Edited May 3, 2021 by Pingley

Returning to the intro area upon dying is an interesting concept, not gonna lie, and the environment changes each time you die, so that's an incentive for repeatability. Not being able to turn off the game until you have died or finished a run is the reason why I’m not buying this (yet). Good news is that the developers are aware of this and they will likely do something about it. Giving us a save state that automatically deletes itself after reloading would be a good solution. Tez2
Ascended the mountain, only to end up in a glitched frozen state. Couldn't do anything other than restarting the cycle, so I just didn't bother and closed off the game. Two hours playthrough wasted just like that. Heard others have lost even more. Someone lost a 30-hour playthrough due to tons of bugs. I guess I wouldn't bother playing this game until the devs come up with a save feature.
