Is the use of this song a coincidence, or is it intentional?

Hello, people. I know what you are thinking. The title of this topic is not very obvious about its subject. I'll give you some context. As you may know, there are lots of places which play music in GTA 3. The one we are interested in right now is the Hepburn Heights music one. Some kind of house-electro music. Said song is based on a real one: Floating Waves, by DJ Roadrunner. What you may not have noticed is that, in Radio Espantoso, the song "Super Strut" has a riff that sounds almost exactly the same as the music in Hepburn Heights. I mean, I know both songs were created by different artists that have no relation between each other. However, the songs are so similar that I think it can't be a coincidence that Rockstar used both one after the other. What do you think? Is a coincidence, or is an intentional reference to GTA 3 in Vice City? In case you don't remember the songs, I'll leave them here. Here you have both:

Hepburn Heights theme was actually prior to DJ Roadrunner - Floating waves, which was on a Spongebob episode in 2006, and released on an album in 2007. It uses the Korg M1 synthesizer which was used in a large amount of 90's dance music, and if you compare the Hepburn Heights theme to Gypsy Woman by Crystal Waters they're also pretty similar.

You both are wrong. The Hepburn Heights song is this. DJ Roadrunner sampled it in his track which was released years later.

The video is blocked in the US. Can you post the title?

Now that's weird. The song is called "Bizzare Inc. - Took My Love".

Thanks man, this is the kind of stuff that is keeping my interest in these games. I've been trying to collect some of this corollary music. Like we found all the mall muzak tracks from VCS over on that board a while back.

I actually just found another song that sampled this

"Perfect Body Work Out - Part Seven - 125 BPM"

You can hear a sample of it on here. Random as hell.

god damn it i f*cking KNEW there was another track with it, all pretty similar synths though (note i never said it was gypsy woman, merely similar synths) - that bizzare inc track sounds like the korg m1 organ bass mixed with the piano. good stuff regardless.

Fun fact - that Hepburn Heights loop was used in a Spongebob episode.
