ilivehere
I have a bunch of old files from when I was trying to mod GTA SA years ago but my pc was sh*t. I have original game files with no cd fix and downgrader patches. I have some mod tools like Alci img editor v1.5, alci img tool v.2, dff viewer, gta path editor (ape.exe), mohab asi loader, cleo4 setup, SA handling editor, SAMI v1, fastman limit adjuster, SA project 2dfx and some other things. Im hoping somebody can tell me if these tools are outdated and where I should start to get this game primed for modding. Should I use a mod manager like MO2? is there a good video on youtube that explains all this for 2021? is there other tools I need? I saw some things about a 4gb patch. i dont think I have that Thank you!
LeatherJacketSoldier
I use: . Magic TXD: to manage textures, .txd files (not editing the images themselves) . IMG Tool 2.0: to add, replace, extract and delete files (like .dff, .txd, .ifp, and so on) from .img files . Alci SAAT Gui Frontend (I don't know exactly its name) : to edit sound files, which are composed mostly of .ogg files . Autodesk 3D Studio Max 2009: to create models (.dff files, with the right plug-ins), to replace them, or to modify them. I use it for the last two, replace consists on finding a model (for example, one from another GTA) and place it on the same place where the original model is (the process is much more complicated than that, check guides in the Forums and in the web) . GXT Editor 1.2: to edit .gxt files, which contain every subtitle and legend of the game. They're found in "text" folder in San Andreas root folder. Never heard of that 4GB patch. I don't use it, I have enough with my mods, which add only around 200 MB to the game.
