Obviously it's going to vary from country to country due to exchange rates and economy, but in the UK a brand new PS2/PC game would set you back between £30-£40 in 2004, depending on the title and studio, much like it does now. For the American market, you're looking at a wider range between $20-$50 but that also includes the smaller budget arcade games you can buy like Mel Gibson's Safari or Pac-Man Pinball. Because I thought 50$ was a sh*t ton for a damn video game but damn that was money well spent for something like SA next to some good ass reefer in those days. F*cking boggles my mind how some games reached the 70$ price point and possibly reaching further more than that now in the current times. 60$ was the norm for years for us and now 70$ is right up around the corner and my ass was complaning years back for the 50$. The hell happened with the price points over games? Can't wait to see GTA 6's price point in the near future, lmao. Official General Posted March 27, 2021 Share Posted March 27, 2021 In the UK where I from and live, it was £40 - £35 when it first came out on the PS2. For the original Xbox, it was around £45 - £50.
