GTA Protagonists vs Wei Shen

Originally I wanted to do this in terms of just a single protagonist vs Wei Shen, but honestly, I can't decide who'd be the best candidate to take on the Sleeping Dogs protagonist. As such I've decided to just leave it as a situation where you can decide for yourselves which GTA protagonists would stand the best chance. First of all though, let me first tell you about their opponent, Wei Shen. He's the protagonist of Sleeping Dogs whose an undercover cop sent to help bring down the triads in Hong Kong. In terms of abilities, he is an incredibly fit and acrobatic individual capable of parkour, and he is a master martial artist of several styles such as Muay Thai, MMA, and several ones of Kung fu including Drunken Fist, one of the hardest styles to learn. Throughout the story he has managed to be able to take on multiple opponents at once, including those armed with blades, and he even fought his way out of a Shaolin temple. He's an incredibly talented fighter which makes me think most GTA protagonists couldn't really beat him.

 

But I think some would stand a better chance than others. The GTA V protagonists probably stand the least chances, but I think Franklin might have the best chance being the youngest and most able-bodied. Michael is tough too, but I think he'd wear himself out too much since he had chest issues after sprinting against Mary-Anne. Trevor would probably get angry and sloppy, and with how well trained Wei is in Chinese martial arts he could easily use this against him. With GTA IV protagonists, I think Niko stands the best chance being a trained military veteran and being able to similarly disarm opponents. Luis being a bodyguard and cage-fighter comes in at a close second, and Johnny might put up a good fight himself since he's a rough and tough biker. Huang Lee from Chinatown Wars may actually be able to take on Wei since he too is trained in Chinese martial arts like Wei. In terms of the HD Universe, I think Huang Lee, Niko and Luis might be able to beat him. Johnny I don't think could win in the end unfortunately, nor could any of the GTA V trio. 

 

In terms of 3D Universe characters, Vic, Tommy, Toni, CJ and Claude is my personal order of most likely to least likely, but CJ's position largely depends. Vic is a military trained individual who can snap necks, and so he's the best contender. Tommy and Toni are both mob enforcers and thus are likely very good fighters and tough individuals. Tommy especially with having been in prison and being very good at fighting. CJ depends on whether or not he's learned the fighting styles at one of the three gyms, but if so, just any one of those increases his chances greatly. Claude unfortunately I can't speak for, so I imagine he might stand the least chances against Wei Shen. But ultimately for me, I think Vic, CJ and Tommy might be able to win against Wei Shen, but CJ would need to know all of his moves at the gym before he could stand a chance. I think Toni and Claude would very much lose the fight and wouldn't last very long at all. I honestly think Wei would still prevail above them all though really.

 

So ultimately, I think in terms of the best contender, Huang Lee would be the best opponent to go up against Wei Shen, but even then, I think Wei would win. But what do you guys all think? Do you think any of the GTA protagonists could beat Wei Shen from Sleeping Dogs in a fight? If so, which ones and why? Are there any that you don't think could win or even stand a chance? Let us know your thoughts on that one too. Ultimately, I think even though the GTA protagonists are a tough bunch of men, Wei Shen is just far too much of a talented fighter and is too skilled in several styles of hand-to-hand combat to lose. Some might put up a better fight than others, but Wei Shen is to them what Bruce Lee is to modern MMA Fighters. I look forward to hearing all your opinions though.

In terms of fluidity of combat and putting their surroundings to use, Wei Shen wins out by far (always wondered why you couldn't use your environment in combat in GTA). The dude even wins the Zodiac fighting tournament! In terms of weapon usage I think most GTA protagonists would fair better as they'd have more experience. In a one on one fist fight I think Niko Bellic, Luis Lopez and Vic Vance would stand the best chance against him.

I think wei would be able to kick all of their collective asses with little effort.

 

He literally survived torture and even after he was able to kill half of the sun on yee in a single night.

I can't imagine any protagonist beating Wei Shen. He can counter pretty much every move (including the kick) and break free when he is held down. Vic or CJ could probably stand against him but I don't think any of them could beat Wei.
