I cannot load a save game downloaded from the internet

Recently, my save game file went bonker right after i completed the mission naval engagement and I don't know what caused it! And I downloaded a save game from the internet, I can see the save game appeared in the load menu, but when i loaded it the game took me back to the first cut scene. Can anybody help?

A tip if people are confused

According to GTASnP, your save game's release version is "Steam (Windows)" while the other save's is "Retail (Windows) or Steam (Mac OS X)".

Open the "Modifications" menu below and change the release version from "Unmodified" to "Steam (Windows)", hopefully it works then.
