Is the Resupply Mission (Hunt for Animal) bugged on PC?

I have completed many Resupply Missons on PC, but something strange happened on my Resupply Missions today. The specific mission is the one where Cripps tells you to go hunt a specific animal, drop the carcass at the supply wagon, and then you take the supplies. 

 

I did 2 Resupply Missions today, and in both, I found the animal type quickly, killed  it, and then stow it on my horse. I will get the message that reminds you not the skin the animal. After that, a white paw symbol will appear randomly on the Map, usually very far from the location where I am supposed to drop the carcass. At that point the person who Cripps asked me to deliver the animal to will not accept the animal I killed, he will only accept the animal located at the white paw symbol. 

 

Is that a bug? Or did the mission get an update? I have completed a lot of these types of missions, and this have never happened before today. Has this happened to anyone else on PC? Do you think a Mod user is interfering with the mission?

It is a bug (it must be), I've had it happen on the Xbox several times.

 

90 percent of the time, from Hennington's stead, that guy wants a TURTLE and that is nice since the guy is also by Stillwater (where the turtles are!)

About 10 percent of the time, he wants a "whitetail deer"; that is when it can "bug" and I see a whitetail deer dead on some players mount, or as just

a white paw on the ground, INCREDIBLY far away from where I am. Often it might even be a deer another player killed and abandoned, really far from you

(so it won't be turned in, for the duration of your resupply.)

 

I'm not sure why it does that, it is a totally unknown player to me but for some reason it thinks that the deer they have is the one I'm getting.

The other player is not even doing a supply quest like that.

 

One of the times I actually went WAY up there, just to see what the player was doing. He had the deer on his mount, 

bringing it to his camp. If I recall, at the point he turned it in it was then telling me to "hunt a whitetail deer" again 

(but of course it was far too late.)

 

Every time the bug happens to me, the quarry is a "whitetail deer." 

Some of them do work, with me being able to kill a deer and deliver it, this must be when no other player has recently killed one.

 

 

The message I get, when it bugs and another player has it instead of killed and left it, is:

 

"HELP DELIVER the whitetail deer. to the trader" (caps just added for emphasis. )

 

So it is like it thinks you are posse'd/affiliated with that other player, in some way.

As I said, they are a total "stranger" player to me.

 

Even if left dead, it is too far away to bring to the trader with time to then deliver his

wagon to your camp. The only "fix" I've found is to either just hang, in your camp/wherever until 

it times out and then get another resupply OR go to the menu and select "quick join" a takeover 

series/whatever then "quit to free roam" when it starts and try another resupply from your camp.

I suppose you would, being on PC   

but as I said it also happens on Xbox so it is a bug from Rockstar.

I am less concerned if it is a bug. I am suspicious about it being a Modder, since one targeted me over the weekend, and decided to drop Legendary Animals on me and my camp. Somebody has me on a list, and when we are in the same session, they spawn Legendary Animals on me (as well as predators who attack me in my camp while I am talking to Cripps).
