EldfurstenAang Posted March 22, 2021 Share Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) HI, Just purchased RDD2 in Steam, created an account with Rockstar, started the game. Replied yes to HDR. The only thing on the screen is a window (black). I can access setting with Home Key. I can click on exit window and exit game (which shows stuff on screen, "are you sure") But game does not start... nezacant Posted March 23, 2021 Share Posted March 23, 2021 I have this same issue. Not sure if it's an issue with an Nvidia driver or a bug in the game but it's being caused by HDR. Disabling HDR in Windows will allow the game to start properly. If you still want HDR: - Edit the config file located at %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings\system.xml (suggest using Notepad++) - Find <hdr value="true" /> and change it to "false" - Enable HDR in Windows and start the game up - You will now be able to start the game and enable HDR in game again. If the game fails to start again in future sessions, you will have to repeat these steps. Hopefully a there is a real fix for this soon.
