Shrubzero Posted May 17, 2003 Share Posted May 17, 2003 Loads both discs ok, already loaded directX9.0a from PCGAMER disc, the diag from this checks out ok. loads intro film with sound ok, gets to Vice City Copyright 2D cartoon bit with "Miles" logo top right of screen, totaly locks up at that point, no error message, cant CTRL ALT DEL! have to hard power down, heres my spec, Patch 1.1 dosnt work either.. Windows98se (cos im not quite convinced with XP, yet) AMD Athlon XP2000+ ASRock MBoard Via-Chipset K7VT2 512MB DDR RAM the faster kind. 2x Seagate ATA 7200rpm 20GB hard drives. fast. Matrox G400 Graphics 32MB dualhead (dualhead disabled) Relysis 17"Monitor running at 800x600 CyberDrive CDR 48x 16x 48x reader writer DeltaSeries AudioPhile2496 SoundCard midiman.net all with the latest drivers from the motherboard up set to FULL acceleration, checked everthing in the readme a few hundred times, even tried the 98 fix in section 6 of known issues in the readme. Was playing HALFLIVE DEMO @ 28 FPS Was playing Unreal Tournament about the same. Still cant get my old CarmageddonTDR2000 to run think it might be directx with that game, dunno, sorry ViceCity! WAS MY SOUND CARD!! disabled it, works fine! got my onboard sound-chip running 3d direct emulated driver works a gooden! draw distance on 10, frame limiter ON. still havnt killed the pizza dude yet , hahaha, wicked fun!
