Captain Kyra Posted March 18, 2021 Share Posted March 18, 2021 (edited) Came up against a high level (508 I think) player in free roam last night who started killing me both on foot and horseback, and I was completely unable to lock on him. I checked his card load out and he was definitely running PiB, not Slippery. Was this player using a glitch or a cheat or is there some other way to disable lock on? 1898 Posted March 18, 2021 Share Posted March 18, 2021 Most of this kind of thing happens on PC but I did come across a player in a PS4 showdown that ended up with 50 kills and no deaths. AmyStone Posted March 19, 2021 Share Posted March 19, 2021 It's hard to know. We bumped into a player who was off the radar with no name above his head and you couldn't lock on. He could be kill though. He seemed genuinely mystified by it too. He was a low rank and he just stood there while he let us try some things out. He wasn't trying to shoot back and was very friendly. It's possible it was a glitch of some kind but equally likely the game messed up. A few weeks ago my character became completely invisible just by me picking up an egg. I had a player come at me and because I was in defensive I couldn't auto lock onto him but he was hitting me like I was standing still. Finally I shifted to my dead eye because I had Slippery loaded and fired at him with my repeater which had explosive rounds. It took that to kill him. It could be the other player had figured out some way to trick the game and cheat but I don't know exactly what they could have been doing to get that effect? I know that PiB boosts the accrecy even if targets are out of range and can't be painted. And if you are good with free-aim you could hit. I address this issue the same way, report said player and immediately block him (and his posse). But what we realized a few days ago, was far more concerning! A friend was returning from a trader delivery, she joined our session and there was no dot on the map, her name had no colour when she emoted us and we couldn't lock on or grapple her! Kind of the same happened to another friend, he joined another session for two far-away trader sales and was crafting (devensive) in his camp before returning offensive to our lobby -> no blip on the map! Now, looking back I'm a little shocked because probably since OP4/OP5 this glitch being used or exploited has risen exponentially in Free-Roam, Showdowns and PvP-Events! So next to the fu.king intentional glitcher comes C*'s incompetence again (providing, acknowledging and solving the problem)!
