It's still too risky, but if read things correctly, the modders are on the set path to achieve it.

 

The one problem they will have to deal with is the security for the PS4 isn't as sloppy as the PS3 is, to be online you will need the latest firmware version, and if the servers detects any alteration on the firmware going online, the console gets an insta-ban(the console, not the account apparently...But it should).

 

Well, I guess it's time to start saving for a PS5 now, I have seen this movie happening before, I know how it ends.

 

If history is any indication then custom firmware can just respond to the master servers with whatever version number it wants & Sony cant do a whole lot after that unless they make big chances, wich is unlikely when they already have a new console to focus on.

 

Fun fact, this all came from CD Projekt Red/CP'77 leak, for all the people that assumed it was going to be "futuristic GTA" its kind of fun to consider that the leak will help people make futuristic bs happen in GTA:O etc.

You say they just made a few changes and sold it for 2,5 Million. While I disagree with that considering they look rather diffrent, lets just roll with "they are the same".

The best case option would be to vote with you wallet and simply not to buy it. I mean according to your own oppinion you wont be missing out on anything.

I personaly have no problem with spending 2,5 Million on it for 2 simple reasons.

1. Making enough cash for it is rather easy and I got a ton sitting around anyway.

2. The new players are not getting f*cked over because they can get the same performance out of a 15k bati. That means the enitre 1,485 Million diffrence is based looks wich are entirely subjective in their monetary worth.

 

And again if you are worried that it "sends the wrong signal to R*, Im sorry but like I said this ship has sailed.

Look at Bennys. Upgrades for a Sultan and a Banshee that look "barely diffrent" and are outperformed by all other supers.

They sold us the Lazer wich is "barely diffrent" from the Hydra for double the price.

Just this update added a reskin of the Baller LE LWB thats exactly the same but has visual customisation for 10 times the price. Customisation that could have been added to the regular LE LWB like they did with other cars.

Thing is, I see barely anyone b*tching about that thing despite there being actually legittmimate things to b*tch about.

Sorry for being blunt but the f*ck it is. The Bati is cheap simply because of how Rockstar is handling content updates: new content is constantly getting more and more expensive while they simply don't care about bringing the old content back to speed. That's why we have a ton of businesses but we still run the same two heists to make money because that's 2020-2021 money we're making instead of the peanuts we'd be making with 2015 CEO content.

 

So things like the Bati being 15k is one of rare examples where Rockstar's lack of care for updating old content benefits the player, let's not want to take that away, okay? Or hey let's take it away but then let me make something like 500k from a 9 crate cargo sell mission = update the old businesses to keep up with inflation and then you can update the old vehicle prices too because it will make sense.

The crux of the problem isn't that they merely priced the bike that high, but the fact that the priced a lame/average/mediocre vehicle at that price. The price tag could have been justified if it had some unique upgrade or feature going for it.

 

Don't give me the "yOu dOn'T hAvE tO bUy iT, iT'S oPTionAl", it's people like you who lets these companies get away with doing stupid stuff.

Would you rather spend 2.5 mil for something that takes up space and is meh, or pick from so many other interesting vehicles?

Unless you're into PRB liveries, then Shinobi is unrivaled in that reguard for most images packed into a livery

They can't raise old prices (not worth the backlash) so they overprice the new vehicles to compensate. Then you can't complain because you've a competitive bike for peanuts.

 

Sticking with the old&cheap or spending millions is better than having all competitive sports bikes within the 700k-1,5m range, I guess.

I got 110 million so far, i like this week's focus. Double on payphone assassinations is great. Getting 170k, just for throwing a molotov is great. The missions are so damn easy, hell yeah.

 

I mean i already own all and all, got most cars, bikes etc. yeah this is a good week. 170K for simple work, yeah nice.

There was a community effort for some "part reverse engineered part 'fan-made' PS4 SDK" early 2020, that led to early PS4 homebrew, wich Sony then sort of dealt with by requiring newer firmware for all games since, but in that CDPR leak last year the official SDK for PS4, PS5, Xbox SX & Switch leaked, making it much easier to do defeat the consoles protection mechanisms, regardless of firmware. It just took people in the related console communities quite some time to realize this.

Its been 'out there' since like February last year, whatever Sony did (besides deny the game from their stores for a while) is unclear, but i think its safe to assume that they have dealt with that situation by now, obviously behind the scenes to try keep the leak somewhat secretive. CDPR most likely had to pay trough the nose for it yeah, lets hope they can make CP'77 the game it deserves to be in 2022 and they can deal with the financial hit that way.

There is a diffrence between defending R* and just not understanding the complaints.

See, usually people are rightfully pissed about overpowered bullsh*t for ridiculous prices.

Right now however they are pissed because a new bike is just expensive but not overpowered. I see suggestions flying around about adding Imani Tech to it that would make basicly EVERY SINGLE OTHER BIKE obsolete in the process.

And all that happens while just a few weeks we got a 3 Million $ Supercar that becomes undriveable as soon as you change the mirrors. But guess what I dont see anybody complain about that one.

No, instead they are b*tching that the latest toy in town is NOT overpowered.

Thats the thing I just cant understand after years and year of overpowered AND overpriced vehicles and people rightfully complaining about them.

 

R*s pricing has been ridiculous since atleast heists. Thats over half a decade. Expecting anything else, is a pipe dream.

And I sorry to break it to you but a price increase for new content was pretty much expected since cayo perico came out.

You are basicly printing money with that heist.

And there is one thing R* doesnt like at all. Players who have tons of earned cash flying around. Because if little Timmy has a metric f*ckton of money that buys him everything from an update he wont beg his mommy for a cashcard and fill R*s pockets.

 

We are lucky that the price increase only happened now and not with tuners. Otherwise the people whos tuner cars got butchered with the latest update would be even more rightfully pissed than they are now.

The price increase has happened and it will keep happening. People urging people not to buy the bike wont change that. That ship has sailed.

 

A german gaming journalist put it very well a few weeks ago:

"Your favourite game developer does not care about you!" to wich I add " unless you are handing him cash. And even then he only cares about the cash."

After Cayo Perico was introduced, and every was worrying about what that would do to in-game pricing... how does this surprise you?

Back in 2013/14, if you didn't know someone who had grinded or RP glitched their way to unlocking the original variation of Rooftop Rumble before it was removed, you were f*cked for cash until March 2015, and even then, if you wanted to rely on just yourself, you were still screwed until December 2015 when the Organization gameplay and being able to complete VIP Work was introduced. But even then it was limited to a 4 hour time limit & 12 hour cooldown and required $1m, now being just a VIP instead of a CEO has no time limit and only requires 50k.

 

However, I'm not completely blind to the lack of sense this makes. Broughy's testing puts the Shinobi at 3rd around the track, just barely beating the Bati 801 which still only costs $15k, so from a practical sense, yeah what's the point in paying so much extra for almost non-existant benefit? I understand if it were a little cheaper but could be fitted with weapons & Imani Tech, although I doubt it would get RC Control due to being a bike and liable to get knocked over. The only profit to be made here are people who do zero research on a vehicle prior to purchase, assume it's the fastest bike because it's the newest bike but also can't buy it without buying a Shark Card.

None of the prices in gta online makes any sense.

Well the ones for cans of sprunk do, but thats about it.

A candy bar for 5$, basic jeans for 500$, a scooter for 15k, aGolf 1 for 1,7 Million ...

 

Heck I dont like the whole pricing thing either. But right now I'm just baffled that people are angry at R* for NOT BREAKING the motorcycle class with an expensive toy.

I don't have a problem with them because they do have a lot of customization. I don't really have a problem with poor performance if a car does have really good customization like bennys parts.

So a carbon copy of a 2015 car that was already a copy of a car, wich just got a total of 12 pieces of customisation plugged onto it is ok.

But a vehicle that was made from scratch with equal customisation is not.

Bitching and moaning about price of a bike when few years ago you could earn crumbs compared to newer means (casino and Cayo) and prices weren't that lower either. Before casino you could earn maybe 500-600k in 2 hours as far as i remember while now triple compared to then and majority of vehicles go on discount eventually anyway. Contrary to real life (and yes i'm aware this is just a game) if you work (grind for some time) you can really afford everything and ''live'' that life. Someone will respond how this is not a free 2 play game and it comes with a regular price, but then again, how many games are providing players with free updates containing new content accessible to all players no matter how stale it can get (which is typical to any game after some time)? A few of them.
