My hopes for CnC are still up, no way they can scrap it off like it was nothing.

Well since we are having the conversation about shortages and delays i will speak from personal experience:

 

In my country Greece from what i hear we had one of the worst ps5 shortages compared to other countries.

I ordered on November 10th and still haven't got the console.

They e-mailed me however and told me that they are shipping the early Nov consoles now so i should expect my ps5 in the month of April.

 

Sep-oct was the most preorders but they managed to ship them.

 

We have around 10 millions(maybe more?) Next gen consoles available. 

Vi won't release within that minuscule console playerbase.

But I don't see E&E realising now a problem.

It ain't like its a new game or something. 

On the contrary if they release it asap that's better for them in the long run.

 

I expect the trilogy to be cross platform so if a delay happens it's not related to the availability of next gen consoles.

we found references to police vehicles that were supposed to be included.

my guess is that they dumped the intended dripfeed of CnC into LSSS.

but the theme related vehicles like police cars, are still on their servers, and they probs have dozen of vehicles on their servers they can just throw in as dripfeed now.

I don't think R* is gonna give a damn about the politics right now, as from what I see, things have calmed down.

A police DLC could bring back players  into gta online, especially if they pull missions like the casino missions (going into a specific building to do specific contact missions), not to mention by over the past months, even if they are prioritizing E&E, they could probably be having a small team focusing on the dlcs, and most likely enhancing, improving or adding new features to it.

i think the summer dlc will be cops n crooks, even @Yan2295 hinted at it, when someone asked on his twitter "what's the next update gonna be" and yan responded "Can't tell, but probably something that was supposed to come out earlier but that got delayed because of some political bullsh*t" 

 

he was referring to cops n crooks in that quote but idk if when he said "cant tell" if he means he knows but wont tell us or he doesn't know at all

idk when this was added but i just went to la mesa police station and ive never saw this before but there was a NOOSE team holding mg's and carbines gearing up for something with NOOSE trucks and cop cars with normal LSPD officers doing checks with check boards, yes its quite a small thing but its quite interesting. it was at the back of the station in the big car park with the LSPD garages

Because of course politics discussion was already getting sour again and people were getting pissy, that's yet another swath of posts hidden. If you can't be civil and on-topic, don't bother. This isn't the topic for it. If Rockstar didn't want to (and honestly rightfully) release Cops & Crooks because of the George Floyd thing, so be it, stop filling this topic with charged commentary that will 100% derail it.

 

I would not expect any C&C this summer, IMO, regardless.

I imagine the devs are more concerned about sorting out bugs and development setbacks than consoles shortage. The latter is still a concern for sure, but it's a side issue within a list where the accumulation of all these issues could warrant a delay. But independently? It wouldn't hold much weight.

I think that console shortages are really not a factor in GTA's future updates and DLC releases. My understanding from last year was that the E&E was originally slated for the summer of this year, and didn't they later on suggest that it would be the holiday season of 2021? Since the PS5/Series-X versions aren't even close to being released anyway, how would that be effected by console shortages? Same with updates/DLC's for the current gen (or rather I guess last gen) consoles. I think that if the new E&E versions were scheduled for this Spring, then the console shortages would put a damper on things, I'm sure. But as it is now, if I had to guess, by the time we get to this summer, the consoles are going to be a lot more readily available. If not, or even Fall, then we could probably start rationally speculating about console shortages contributing to delays in GTA DLC.

 

On a side note, regarding the political thing, and being totally civil, I seriously doubt that the George Floyd tragedy is in any way relevant to GTA. Rockstar uses GTA as a platform to satirize American politics, both liberal and conservatives, by the way. I can see them absolutely creating satire out of Trump, Biden, Pelosi, and the Republicans and Dems in the senate and the house, but I don't think that they are going to either poke fun of a tragedy like Floyd, nor would they pander to liberals by not releasing planned content because of it. Rockstar has a history of showing blatant and fun irreverence toward all aspects of politics, economics, and American life in general. You know, conspiracy theories like this are nothing new from GTA fans. I remember back in  Fall of 2001, when GTA III was delayed, the conspiracy theories flew around Teh Intrawebs, too. So many people believed the delay was because of 9/11, and the connection between Liberty and NY City. But that was false, too.

If R* reserved all the QoL changes that the community has requested over the years and actually applied to the game in an future update...

 

...that update being the Expanded™ and Enhanced ® next gen version, that is.

 

Would be really funny having to buy a brand new console (or a capable enough PC) in order to be able to play the version of the game we wanted from long ago, while the PS4 and Xbone players go the way of the dodo instead. Even more funny if you have to rebuy the game again instead of just letting you upgrade for free.

 

It would be really, really funny, hilarious, risible even, laughable if you must.

You're talking in times when R* was still a non-so-mainstream-and-big-company-that-is-now-under-the-feud-of-T2. Not to mention that 20 years ago you didn't had so much woke and p.c. cultures neither so much "snowflakery", you can see that GTA is going into the mainstream path of marketing and profit from their games, that's why the contracts with DJ's and now real clothing brands. And tbh, didn't gta 3 need be hold up for a bit in order to remove the twin towers counterpart of the game? And yes, bcz of all this, T2/R* would risk in releasing a cop dlc when happened another cop scandal in america that have deep racial problems in it's society. I hope it's just post-poned either way and not totally scratched. One thing that sometimes i notice is the lack of competivity in police pursuits, you know...you with a super cars and cops with sedans...they usually don't keep up with you and only a reason why sometimes (and specially in missions) you have a hard time getting away from police is not because you can't get them out of your tail, but bcz they spawn like cockroaches in every corner. Also, would alrady be a good thing fix the damn police models where in online you don't see pratically any female cop and what happens is that in online (to spare storage?) you have less cop models and female ones almost don't exist and what you get is male cops with voice of female cops, lol. Not to mention that it would be also nice to see and be pursuited by cop bikes and change the IA of cops to be less aggressive when you only have one start level...i even don't know if in online you can get busted by the cops and not only killed.

That would a a marketing suicide. They wouldn't do that i think. LMAO. R* knows that the casual gta player will be just fine in making caos in free lobbies pretending this is some COD game and that a few cars are enough the get them satisfied, the more nerdy ones like us, are the ones who want big things for the game and if we don't get some of those things yet it's because software capabilities of the current consoles.

I don't think we don't get QoL fixes because of technical difficulties, after all, several of them (like the dreaded advanced handling flags) are pretty much lines of code that can be changed on the fly, it has been done before by both PC modders and eveb R* themselves, changing their behavior each update.

 

It's less about that and more about a combination of lazyness, complacency and, giving the developers the benefit of the doubt, a lack of time or resources to actually fix bugs and glitches instead of just churning new content, the rest of the game be damned.

People in the mainstream may be becoming pathologically woke, but I don't see Rockstar going this route. First off, they may be called Rockstar North and may have their base of operations here in NY City, but they are not an American company. Sam Houser has never been one to pander to the lilly-white liberals on the left, crying for censorship of GTA. Remember Jack Thompson, the Florida attorney that decided to declare open war on GTA, which lasted about 10 years? He was disbarred permanently due to judicial misconduct, but that's very much beside the point. It's popular amongst GTA fans these days to jump on the Rockstar has sold out bandwagon, but I see no sign of this. They fought tooth and nail against all of the angry parent lawsuits against GTA. They never once caved to threats from states and big American cities, some of whom I believe also threatened suits against them for the GTA locations. If anything, they make fun of all this woke s**t, and I see no reason to believe they will start pandering to it. I would bet money that, instead, they are going to double down on their political satire. Although, to be honest, I think GTA V is a lot more satirical of right wing America than left. lol The radio station commercials, and that Blane County station bear this out.

 

Nope. I think if anything, GTA is going to become even more irreverent than ever. They have not lost a single one of these nuisance morals-suits. Not one.

I don't think they censored a particular side here. I think they are just asking people to honor their rule that if politics come up at all, to be civil about it, and not degenerate into nasty, pejorative responses.

Hey, i'd be happy to have a strictly enforced no politics rule, including covid discussion. I know it's a slow period for the game, but this is GTA forums not Reddit. To be clear, I'm sick of politics from any persuasion, all of it makes me cringe at this point.
