And you'd very likely be right at least partially. Even Franklin's VA had a role in his own Story Mode writing. It's always funny how I've seen a few people use these corny (and horny!) characters as an example of how "R*'s writing is ruined11!!!!11!! All for the kids11!!!!" even though it's very likely on purpose or exactly how KDJ is/wanted it to be. Other DLC's and the rest of Tuners are just fine. I hope one day we will get a pizza shop (front) with mafia theme update. Could include a mansion and short mafia/triad story arc.  I wouldn't mind if they had the mansion on it's own mini island that you have to load into... but then is highly custom, to include the building additions (tennis court, pool, tec.) Could work like cayo perico and be a point where the yacht goes/loads into when changing its position. I think this would be managable with the E&E release on next gen.

Yeah a mafia themed update could go well with this "back to the roots" feeling  after ls tuners, they could Open food joints, Even the mall and add mansions and have zaibatsu, yakuza, triads, etc,

Edit: now that I'm thinking about it, a Smokey and the Bandit update would be pretty cool. We could have our own custom Phantoms or Haulers that aren't attached the the MOC, and pick up random smuggling jobs. Get a tip from gas stations on goods that need smuggled, hook your truck up to the trailer and take it to the location. Take the risk and go alone or bring a friend to distract the heat. And finally give us the phoenix livery for the Imponte Phoenix (i mean come on, it's right in the name)

On a topical note, I hope they keep Go Kart Vendetta (yeah I know that's not what it's called, yada, yada, yada) on promotion. While it's not quite as good as Vehicle Vendetta, it's similar enough in concept to be enjoyable.

Here's where I'm a little lost. Numerous fans say Mafia is the roots of GTA, when throughout GTA's 1 -2 we were more of a goon that worked with whichever crime gang (mafia or otherwise) was hiring bodies. GTA 3 kept this goon for hire mindset but did introduce the primary goal of revenge on traitorous girlfriend. Vice City did have us start as a long standing member of a mafia crime family but then had Tommy cut loose into his own organisation (he didn't self-describe himself as part of any gang, but more head of his operation). When I hear people say Mafia themed update, I'm thinking full The Godfather, pure-blood Italian type stuff. Given that GTA Online character is primarily geared towards the goon-for-hire/own operation type of deal, combine that with the Social Club Crews & the SecuroServ/MC functionality, the playerbase is kinda already free to be a Mafia, Yakuza, Triad, OMC, anything they want at their own discretion.

 

Although R* have certainly leaned into the Front wishes of the fanbase since 2018, with the Nightclub, Arcade & Auto-Shop. More updates with businesses like the Arcade & Auto-Shop and we'll be alright, now would indeed be a great time to start reintroducing 3D Era Vehicle Service missions in the form of private companies (Paramedic, Firefighter, Taxi, Delivery, Bail Bond/Bounty Hunting etc.).

Yeah, the hill climb look to the Gargoyle would have been great if they were optional mods but I’d also prefer a cleaner flat tracker (not bobber) look.

 

You know what would be a great promo? Log in every day for a week and the reward would be 7 levels worth of rep points. Basically an incentive to play daily that would gift you with 7 levels worth of rep no matter your current level. Otherwise it will be years before most people will ever have access to the crazy levels like 700 for the Red Retro Redwood jacket… I still can’t believe how  shameless and f*cked the rep system is, that’s just predatory and spiteful tactics, so much so that all it really does is entice otherwise honest players to want to glitch/exploit/AFK their way to “progressing” through it.

I get you're likely joking, but I've brought this up before. A full tank of gas last the average driver about a week. 

 

A week in game, with days being 48min long, is about 5 hours.

 

When was the last time you drove a single vehicle in gta for 5 solid hours without the session dropping or being blown up by someone else? I doubt most players even have an average session time anywhere near that long.

 

It's a fun concept but terribly impractical to implement.

(after all, we went from 'cars can leak gasoline and grind to a halt, complete with the gauge going down accordingly' in GTA V, to 'you have to make sure to feed/bathe both your character and your horse' in RDR 2, so 'cars use up fuel and need to be refilled from time to time' does sound like the logical next step)

I've seen a youtube video of him and I knew right away that he wrote his own dialogue, that's just how he talks normally.

The gas tanks wouldn't have to get empty in a single session, it would be something you really only have to do for the vehicles you really use much, for me the Pfister 811 would run out of gas very often, because it's my most used non weaponized vehicle, because it's fast af. And im talking about distance driven, not time it wouldn't work right if with time. Just because a car is back in the garage wouldn't have to mean it automaticly gets refuiled. Johnny on the spot only drives and repairs the cars, he wouldn't refuil them. We would have to do that. Oh yeah and also i want to see Johnny if he delivers cars, for immersions sake, like it was on PS3/X-Box 360 in the beginning. If the gas tank is less full the car should also be a bit lighter, that could help in races, it would give you the tiny little extra speed over your competitors if they drive with full tanks. Of course all of that would be nonsense for GTA V, but maybe it will happen in GTA VI, maybe they go for more realism again with that game. Who knows maybe we even get manual transmission in GTA VI. The ultimate dream would be, that rockstar buys the actual licenses of car manufacturers, imagine driving real cars/bikes and flying real choppers/planes/jets, same for clothing, and maybe a real city, not this made up stuff anymore. GTA VI is so far away, stuff like that might be possible. Away from the pseudo brands, and get the real deal. But that probably won't happen, because they are greedy af, and rather keep the money.

 

Yeah ppl say the 811 is ugly, but i like how it looks, and it's still the fastest car in the game on straights, well on PC at least with good FPS. I painted like 3 or 4 cars, in that brazilian style, damn i love the color combo.

It's seagreen with dye yellow as pearlscent and secondary color, and "birdyellow" for the rims. Not sure the colors really are named like this, i don't play the game with english menus/UI, etc.

Your point makes alot of sense. We are pretty much running a criminal business similar to real world mafia. I guess I want more so the flavor of a mafia themed update. Its like mixing high life (mansion, island) with a new business front. Missions could be designed on famous mafia movies etc. One of my favorite things (after having the three different themed cities) with San andreas was the gang turf battles and taking over the city by painting it green. I even remember the glitch or whatever to get the territory in San fierro. The casinos were ran by the mafia and in gta 4 you had little China, Russia, Italy which gave it the feeling like you were in the countries. We have korea town which could be used for some new themed dlc. 

 

 

What I would really love to see, is rockstar let the community vote on the themes/features of future dlcs. They could let us vote on one guaranteed vehicle to show up, the style/theme, or whatever else.

Well, I think the idea with a lot of the DLC updates and free roam additions has been to facilitate roleplaying. Not that your character becomes any one thing, 24/7, but now you have an easier means of pretending for a little while if you want. Lowriders, Tuners, Bikers, etc.--so many of these additions let you either pretend to be a specific type of criminal, or at least they bring that particular flavor to the new activities. So I imagine a mafia update would be very much the same way. Not that we are now Italian gangsters, but the NPCs, businesses, and activities in such an update would be.
