lascha2nd
Sorry if my grammar English are bad but I hope you understand about the issues. Lately, I'm having a problem with my GTA V where the game are lagging so bad right now even I install the GTA V on SSD. If you're asking my Specification, here: CPU: Intel i5 7200u GPU 1: Intel HD Graphics (for desktop, not gaming) GPU 2: GeForce 920MX 2GB (2016 GPU, It should run smooth) RAM: 4GB Storage: - G: HDD 500GB (for storage) - C: SSD 120GB (for windows) And so I tried examine the problem using task manager and I found really strange that HDD processing are really high while SSD didn't. And so I started suspected the game running on HDD instead SSD. And again no, I install the game on SSD, not HDD.
JaeDan 101
Your PC has only 4GB of RAM, did you disable all of the startup apps? After you disabled them in the "startup" tab in Task Manager, restart your PC and your good, I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong

It comes with numerous bloatware apps, and Windows 10 is the most feature rich OS yet, meaning that there are more background processes than ever, which uses up most of your resources. Try to get more RAM. 8GB is bare minimum in 2021 but I'd recommend 16GB if your motherboard and cpu allow it. (It should but make sure before you buy RAM). I see that you have transparency enabled. It won't help much but I'd turn it off because you only have 2GB video ram. Make sure your laptop is plugged in and using the "High Performance" power plan. Thanks for the help. ANd the laptop is already on High Performance btw. JaeDan 101
MechanicMammal
I trust you are running the game at lowest settings possible at 900p, I do not want to sound harsh but your laptop looks like it only just makes minimum recommended spec's. I think it will run but you are going to have to be realistic with settings! every componant is being pushed. The CPU is a low power dual core variant, 4gb RAM is not really enough the GPU is also a 12 watt part and not really designed for gaming. (to put it in context my laptop GPU draws 120 watts of power 10x the amount) If you are going over your vram amount then it will start using normal RAM (which is slower) if it runs out of normal RAM then the computer utilises the HDD and will try to use it as random access memory or vram.(which is much much slower). I used to run the game on a laptop with 2gb vram (but it did have 16gb of RAM and a higher tdp i7 quad core) and over time with every update I would have to lower settings and resolution to compensate. For single player there are mods which improve performance but I would not risk using them online.
