I got the PC version too and the RC Plane does nothing else than dip all the time.... So does anyone has any kind of hints on how to fly the thing on a PC? When I start it in RC Baron, running it forward on the parking deck roof the plane starts to sway to the left thus losing speed and crashing into the wall around the parking deck. Should it do that? stevenclarkson24 Posted May 17, 2003 Share Posted May 17, 2003 OK, after about an hours fiddling this morning, I have cracked it! I learnt this from flying the seaplane (the same way I learnt how to fly the RC choppers, after flying a biggun! Anyway, for the vastly superior PC, you push the UP arrow to make it start going forward....pretty much straight away you can press the NUM PAD 6 key, that will make it climb. Once it is in the air, use the NUM PAD 6 key to keep it up in the air, the NUM PAD 9 key brings it down, DON'T USE THAT! You can use the left and right arrow buttons to fly left and right, and just keep on the up arrow to keep the engine going. This takes some practise, and a lot of getting used to, you should fly high when navigating, but you need to be low to bomb stuff, or you will surely miss! I havn't managed it yet, I just got it so that 1 boat was left, then I crashed the last f*cking plane! Good luck! Steve C. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you time it right during Bomb's away, you can take out pretty much everybody with a kamakazi run on the dock. You don't need to go "down" anyway...just launch the bombs from high up...besides, it's harder for them to get you with their, in relation to your bombs, "little guns"... You just gotta time droping the bombs perfectly...it's a long mission 'cause you have to be very accurate..but you'll get there in the end. The Precinct - We're upping our standards, so up yours! shinytiger Posted May 18, 2003 Share Posted May 18, 2003 This flying sh*t is borked big time, I'm unable to complete averys mission to blow the building, because the RC helicopter is diabolical to control, and the camera seems to randomly decide whether to track with the helicopter or not, 8 minutes is far too short a time, after 8 attempts at doing this mission, and not even coming close I'm pissed. It probably wouldn't be so bad, if the developers had actually bothered to include control option changes for the other vehicles, or the ability to sustain your height (like actually Hover FFS) without having to juggle between up and down constantly, whilst attempting to actually carry out the mission. As frustrating goes, this is up there with the racing level in mafia. I hope they sort these issues out with a patch soon. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

GOUFY Posted May 22, 2003 Share Posted May 22, 2003 Well, I was kind of anticipate for this mission since i tried it. Only here you can play Stuka in the 1986! Anyway, you would try diving your plane and then pitch up, which would get your planes higher I believe, as well as getting easier to control. Otherwise, just keep tabbing '6'(numberpad) (or is it?) and your plane should stay in the sky. And when you feel like you're above the target press the attack. Since this mission don't cost you your life, just keep trying, you'll get the hang of it. And I thought some other missions were much harder. If all else fails, try Bigbang.... MrLaggy Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 Yeah, I didn't find this mission hard, just long. My tactics were: 1. Avoid the ground. 2. Drop bombs randomly around the car and boats. Eventually I got enough bombs close enough to the boats to destroy both of them, and moved on to the car. I found that it just drove around in a loop, and each time around the loop it would always crash at one point. I probably didn't even need to bomb it, and I'm not sure I ever got a bomb close enough to damage the car... in fact, I crashed the plane, was trying to take off again, and got the 'Mission Passed' message, which must mean it finally destroyed itself. If the controls weren't so crappy then dive-bombing would have been the best way to do the mission, but it's real hard to get any kind of fine control of the plane with the keyboard. Zarnywoop Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 I thought I'd write something since I have just finished this mission (on PC -never played PS2 version) I found that all u have to do is just keep your finger on the up-arrow key to move forward, the trick is steering. When you first start the RC plane moving (on the grass) it starts to turn just try to keep it moving and going straight (tapping the left/right arrows)....AVOID the trees and walls. You will find it will take off and come down again...about three times...each time getting a little higher. Just never take your finger off the up-key while flying.. just when u taxi on the ground! At first I would fly over the bridge and then if u down u can land on the road leading to the Mansion on StarFish Island! once you get in the air... it will start to dive...thats ok. As long as you are high enough it will dive, therefore pick up speed and then start rising again before hitting the water. (on occasions i skimmed the water and it still climbed again) Then to turn, just tap the left/right arrows... you can even tap quite rapidly to get it to turn over a shorter distance. Then just drop a bomb on a pass of a boat... timing is practice... drop further away the higher you are... Just spend a few goes practicing flying then try for real. I managed to complete it in about 5 tries.... considering I still havent flown the Dodo in GTAIII. Good luck! (my first post) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
