Which GTA has the craziest police chase experience

GTA vice city is number 1 on my list due because you have police climbing down from helicopters when you are only on three stars.

they really want your head!

We all know what happens when you get six stars like in any other 6 star GTA National Guard is on you like crazy.

I remember going into the police station and taking out all the police with the minigun and as soon as I walked out I was assassinated by swat.

VIce City is insane when it comes to police.

But those are the things that makes the game fun. WhIch one is your choice?

VC seemed to have some of the most spike strip-happy and rapidly spawning cops out there. Couple that with numerous spots where a pair of scripted cop cars will occasionally join the fun, and you got yourself a truly dedicated law enforcement. They still do enough stupid things to be entertaining to escape from, and can be juked somewhat well with infinite sprint even.

Exactly!

Vice city stories followed by gta iii

GTA 3 is my second choice because they drive like they've been smokin some rocks

GTA 5's police chases are the craziest one I have ever experienced. It's more frantic than the previous GTA games before it, in my opinion.

Definitely VC! Cops beating you down to the ground with nightsticks, paying you to assault criminals for them, shredding your tyres with spike strips with abandon, suicidally driving their cars at you with no regard for personal safety and mounting pavements to deliberately run you over if you're on foot. The army explodes your car instantly using a tank and shoots you on sight with no wanted level for sport if you go near their base. A sports car rolls up and two Miami Vice style guys get out ready to machine gun you. SWAT are sliding down out of helicopters after you faster than you can shoot them. And you get paid to shoot them down!

GTA V has cops that come after you for nothing and have stupid fake aim bot and rubberbanding but they have nothing on the craziness of VC law enforcement.

Police chases in GTA 5 are so easy, man

I think police chases can be challenging in V with how aggressive the cops are and how they gave them fake accuracy but they're also very predictable. I wouldn't describe them as "crazy". Like just for one example, if you get 5 stars while on the train it'll play out EXACTLY the same way every time, you know exactly when and where more cars and helicopters will appear, and as you get closer to the city it gets harder and harder to not lose the wanted level as they spawn futher away, and then you're bound to lose it whatever you do once you get in the tunnels/industrial area. It's not crazy/wacky the way 3D era police chases are and the way the cops behave is way more predictable than in IV.

I think the only way police chases can be fun in GTA V is if you have 6 or more stars in my opinion

I like chases in Grand Theft Auto V because you can actualy lose cops when you are hiding. It's not like every other Grand Theft Auto game where it's just impossible.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is crazy, though. The map is very small and cops are crawling from every direction.

It's a toss up between V and IV. The 3D era cops were fun at the time but they seem outdated now. Especially when you're in vehicle, they really can't keep up. They just spawn in front of you. I'd pick IV for on foot police chases and V for vehicle chases.

Oh I agree with this! I think 3D era has the craziest car chases but you can have a lot of fun and crazy adventures on foot in IV, especially at lower wanted levels. When the cops search for you they're really searching and sometimes you'll hear them running around swearing they're going to find you but fail and move away giving you a chance to escape which is awesome. One of my favourite things is leading them on a wild goose chase through the streets, alleys, project buildings and roofs of South Bohan with 2 stars. Also entertaining to start a chase off by running up and starting a fight with cop and knocking their gun out their hands with a melee weapon/your own gun at close range leaving them to brawl with you or run away, or by throwing food/trash/dildos at them or pushing them down a flight of stairs.

The people who said Vice City haven't played Vice City Stories

I have but it's not one of my favourites so I don't think I ever messed around with police chases much. How is it crazier? Is it the same kind of stuff just more extreme?

the police do drivebys, some of the vehicles have armor and bullet proof tires, its the only 3d universe game where you can shot in cars, they ram a lot more and are more accurate with their weapons (they may also be smarter and take cover more too, not sure)

they also take the aggression of gta 3 and vc and can swim too

Must've forgotten being able to get shot in cars, with VC's law enforcement that must indeed be crazy! I still feel like VC has more quirky stuff to earn it the title of "craziest" but that sounds like it's probably the most savage/aggressive. I do remember enemy attacks on businesses being brutal.

Bizarre choice, but I would say GTA 1. Unless you remember the map layouts and where the respray shops are located, which by San Andreas they start to be really far, it can be a bit of a nightmare. The shooting mechanics suck and it's rather hard to aim at your target, compare that to vehicles which have a wider hitbox and are easy to blowup. Getting a 3 or 4 star and having police barricades is a death sentence, unless you have a fast car and ram through the officer and not the squad car, your vehicle is already dead. I know some complain about the car handling in GTA 3, but it has nothing on GTA 1, the cars in GTA 1 feel like they are made of paper bags. Just a few bumps on the road or a few bullets of fire and your car starts to make a scary noise, and if it crashes into anything, instant WASTED! Oh, and the cops in GTA 1 are pretty aggressive, modern GTA's give you the chance to get away, but GTA 1 doesn't have that luxury. Once a cop opens your car door, you're already BUSTED!

To be fair, GTA 3 is the only 3D GTA I played so far. I have Vice City and San Andreas waiting to be played, so I'll edit anything else if the cops in future games are anymore difficult than what I have experienced so far.

Police chases in Vice City/VCS can be quite hectic mostly because of how small the map is so if you’re driving around with 6 star wanted level it’s bloody crazy since there’s few places to catch your breath lol.

I choose San Andreas because of the diversity of vehicles you can use with the size of the map and the diversity of environment. You can start in the bustling streets of San Fierro and some minutes later get around the Sherman dam and another couple of minutes later around the mount Chiliad. It's very enjoyable.

Vice City comes as a close second, the helicopter vigilante is particularly enjoyable in the south-west, you can circulate very fastly compared to a road vehicle and make a huge quantity of money.

I shat myself everytime I saw an FBI car coming at me in VCS, 3 people shooting at you with a speedy SMG tears through any car.

unpopular opinion: GTA 2

Its fun and has the best 6 Star Wanted System. Tanks barriers and they shooting. The whole area has soldiers.

Police is fun too.

Chinatown Wars should be an honorable mention. Not only do you have to make cop cars crash into objects to get rid of your stars, and not only will cops spawn in every corner, but it's also the last game (so far) to include the military at 6 stars, AND the only other one (next to GTA 2) where tanks will actually fire at you. Makes me wish IV included the army.

For me is was III and VCS. For III, once I reached 4 stars the squad cars get very aggressive it's hard to avoid. VCS, on 5 stars it's hard to pass FBI blockades unscathed.
