Rockstarsucks33 Posted February 25, 2021 Share Posted February 25, 2021 Hello, been reading this forum and playing online since beta but have never posted. Good stuff here compared to reddit. All of the sudden my main horse's saddle isn't appearing as being equipped when I'm on it when I bring up the weapon/item wheel. It has its default stats and greyed out bars as if I haven't bonded with it. All of my other horses show full bonding bars plus the additional gold bars from having upgraded saddle/stirrups. I thought maybe I could fix it by entering the stable and switching saddles out but in the stable the game shows my horse with its full bars plus gold bars for my equipped saddle. However every time I exit the stable it reverts to the greyed out non saddled stats....I've tried changing my active horse, dismissing my horse and calling it back, calling hunting wagon/bounty wagon then calling my horse back. Nothing works. Every other horse I own does not have this problem. Unfortunately this horse is basically why I still play this game. I log on, feed it brush it and ride around, it's more interesting than just owning a car in gta. My horse is superior to all other horses and this game and if it's glitched out now I can't really see myself playing this game anymore. I would just try to buy another version of the horse and see if somehow that one wouldn't be glitched out but it costs gold. I haven't bothered to contact Rockstar because every time I've ever done that it's been a complete waste of time and end up with no answers. I was thinking some of the vets on here might have a suggestion or maybe someone has also experienced this issue? I only use my Brindle Thoroughbred with Nacogdoches Saddle and second highest stirrups. I've used almost all of the breeds and I really think the Brindles size and speed are OP so they made the cores weak. But with the Nacogdoches saddle and the good stirrups it negates the weak stamina core. I use the special horse meal to give it gold cores and use a stimulant if I ever have to swim long distances. Other than that she's incredibly strong and fast and has by far the best vaulting skills/animations. Awesome for going through swamps and rough terrain. She's really good with all predators other than cats. She's so big I trample gators with her and wolves will just run into her and bounce off. I highly recommend buying one if you're a long time player who is bored and have the gold for it or even a newer player because it's the best horse in the game. That's why I have been so frustrated trying to figure this out. I'll try your suggestions when I get on later. Thank you again. Rev. I got another one, a custom one or whatever they're called, with much better stats. I think they've nerfed various saddles. I had been using the Nac saddle for years till I noticed it's stats weren't as good as the one I have now. Might be a new saddle, I don't know. For example my special panther saddle has better stats but only gives me +2 gold acceleration bars and +2 gold speed bars. The Naco with improved stirrups gives me +3 gold bars to each. Some time back someone did experiment with the speed bar differences and came to the conclusion that each bar is worth 1/10 of a second over a long distance, in the case of his tests, all the way across the map. How accurate that is.......... For me, anything I can do to reduce the core drains I do. The saddle and trinket do make a noticeable difference. No, people have long thought it might be a "bug" with the Naco that you can do that (also equip the best stirrups, to the "special stat" saddle.) Because of being able to do that, really no other saddle is as good. I think the new Bounty Hunter one comes close, some people like the other ones as a matter of taste. I think after the "mistake", that Rockstar figured they better not nerf the Naco because of the outcry they'd likely have; it is kind of obviously something they did not do on purpose, since all the new "good" saddles (like prestigious bounty hunter one) don't allow that so basically are "not as good" to a lot of us. 1 hour ago, *Lola said: I prefer the special saddles. For me the stamina drain never has been an issue since the stamina ring only drops when you're running full speed for long distances. It's actually the samina regen rate that matters. You can have a real slow drain rate but if there is no regen the ring will reach the end eventually. The more regen you can get the better. The only time it matters for me is when I take the horse into the water but a tonic will help that. 2 of my 3 horses are maxed out on health and stamina rings also. My preference on horses is the cores so I prefer a slower health core drain to reduce how many times I need to feed it. Those 25 cent pieces of hay will run me to the poor house. I also have the trinket that reduces the core drains even more. Here are the stats for both. Health core drain rate: Nac: -20% Panther trail: -20% Stamina core drain rate: Nac: -18% Panther trail: -26% Stamina drain: Nac: -35% Panther trail: -50% Stamina Regeneration: Nac: +20% Panther trail: +24% Edited February 26, 2021 by StyxTx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
fuzzyballs01 Posted March 3, 2021 Share Posted March 3, 2021 (edited) I use the Nacogdoches as a training saddle, once you hit bonding 4 you don't need that bonus stamina regen anyways and cores are pretty much meaningless since you'll either be feeding it constantly, or tethering it so it's cores refill on their own anyway, no matter what saddle you use I just have a saddle I like the look of with the +3 speed and acceleration some people min-max, others go for looks I mean, I still wear the basic dirty duster and scoffed boots you get for free in the intro I did notice when I tried to upgrade to one of those "special" saddles that I couldn't even change the saddlebags, and I'd rather have 7 outfits than be stuck with 5, so that was a waste of $300, so I'll probably stick to my main saddle and training saddle until I stop playing completely Edited March 3, 2021 by fuzzyballs01 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Naco saddle with max stirrups I sprinted from Rhodes to valentine absolutely no problem and could have gone much farther. I think the stirrups are considerably more helpful than we think...you know sometimes Rockstar likes to hide helpful stats from us going all the way back to the beginning of gtao.... Just sprinted with Naco saddle with max stirrups from st. Denis fast travel post to valentine sheriff in 4min 36 seconds and still had a quarter of her stamina bar left. Panther saddle I sprinted from valentine train depot only half way to Rhodes before her stamina bar was depleted. Took 1 min and 15 seconds....
