Create a Radio Station for the Next GTA

Recommended Posts

Just as a bonus, I'm posting an extended version of a previous playlist for Non Stop Pop for one of my concepts, GTA: Borders as part of a DLC set in the 1994 arc. The concept and DLC isn't finished because I don't really have time to do it, but most of the playlists for the add-ons are complete. I'll try to work on the concept maps and logos (like the other stations I've posted so far) when I have free time and get my head around Photoshop and Illustrator.

Non Stop Pop FM

"The summer of '94 never got warmer! Only the hottest pop hits to blast on the streets of Portola Drive and Rockford Hills to!"

Genre: Synthpop, Eurodance, Acid Jazz, Techno, Hip Hop, Sophisti-pop, Pop Rock

Host: Winona Ryder

Type: Dynamic

SoSA's number one pop station, NSP differs from the base game in that it now plays more music from the 90s as opposed to the mostly-80s output in the former. Eurodance, alternative dance, hip hop, downtempo and techno now play a much more dominant role in the playlist, reflecting the electronic music, new age and rave boom of the early-1990s, along with an extended playlist of acid jazz tracks from artists such as Jamiroquai and Us3, which, while not necessarily popular in the States (until the 2000s and 2010s), were extremely popular in the UK, Australia, Europe and Japan. That said, 80s tracks are not out of the question, with tracks by noted bands and artists such as Depeche Mode, Swing Out Sister and Simply Red making appearances here as a legacy of the original playlist in GTA V.

"Non Stop Pop FM. The hottest billboard hits to party to, all day, all night!"

"Grunge? Alternative metal? Afraid I'll pass on that! Music doesn't have to be all that depressing! Non Stop Pop FM!"

"Curl up those side bobs, put on some baggy clothes and take your summer of '94 to the next level with Non Stop Pop! Featuring a diverse palette of tracks from the 70s to the 90s!"

"Take your boring high school reunion to greater heights with Non Stop Pop FM! Because alcohol isn't the only way to bring back the cheerleader in you when you're 40 and divorced, and working full time as a gas station attendant!"

"Non Stop Pop, broadcasting across Southern San Andreas and sponsored by MeTV! Now with Winona Ryder as DJ!"

Thinking of doing alternative radio stations for Youtube and Mixcloud based on my concepts, does anyone know where I can find IV radio jingles? I don't want to go through the trouble of installing the game and going into the game files to extract them.

Uploaded my first alternate mix for Los Santos Rock Radio on Mixcloud. Unfortunately due to copyright blocking on a lot of the tracks I won't be uploading this on Youtube. I might do Mirror Park, Channel X or Vinewood Boulevard next.

It's loosely based on the playlist I did for my GTA: Borders concept.

E.C.T.R (East coast talk radio) Segments

"This is E.C.T.R, you're on live"

"Oh cool, can you hear me?"

"Yes, yes, what is your pressing topic of the day"

"Uhhhh, lemme see i wrote it down somewhere"

"Oh!, yeah yeah here it is"

"Mhm, Go on."

"Ok, so, you know Vice city has a real problem with gangs, and other reprobates of society?"

"Yes, i'm well aware, had my tires slashed a couple times by some....unfriendly youths"

"Ok, cool, so i was thinking, i mean i HAD thought this idea for a while in fact"

"Why don't we just ship ALL these gang members to an island, and and and just let them duke it out?"

"Ok.....and what island exactly?"

"Uh, huh, good question"

"Well i was thinking we could make our own island for these people, i mean have you SEEN the trash islands near los santos?  That stuff is crazy"

"Yes, yes pollution is a pressing topic in San andreas, i've seen it for myself, but i don't think i fully understand"

"Well just send all these gang members to an island, ship them a bunch of guns, and just wait for them to kill each other"

"Ok, but who's gonna pay for this and or clean up the mess?"

"Uhhh, the government?"

"Think about it, the government spends my tax dollars to clean up a roadkill cat on the side of the road, couldn't that be used for something else like my idea?"

"Yeah, yeah, keep your fever dream man, don't be a stranger"

"Wait i'm not don-"

"Ladies and gentlemen, the people of vice city."

New station for the Rust Belt concept.

"Bringing rock music back to the working man, one guitar at a time."

Genre: Hard Rock, Roots Rock, Blues

Location: Silvertown, Carcer City

Host: Rodney "The Rumbler" Caldwell

A classic driving rock station in the same vein as K-DST, broadcasting across Carcer City and the greater Upper Midwest, during a time when the classic rock format was new. First entering the airwaves in 1990, Assembly Rock Radio plays a mixture of hard rock, roots rock and traditional blues, catering to a mostly blue-collar audience. It acts as a replacement to the power pop station, KPRP from the 1989 arc, in 1993.

The Rumbler is the host of the station. He is a former steel welder from suburban Carcer City who is proud of his working class roots in Weldon County, carrying himself with a gonzo sense of humor. He has a noted hatred towards "yuppies and college kids" and celebrates the death of KPRP and "preppy music".

GENRE - Hard Rock, Pop Rock, Glam Metal, Power Pop

HOST - Debbie Harry

I figured that since GTA IV and GTA V have their own Rock Radios, GTA VI should have it too. Given the name, the station is located in Vice City, and hosted by Debbie Harry, the lead singer of the famous group Blondie. The playlist is suited for modern era, but can also be applied to late 80's - early 90's setting, hence no song in the playlist goes beyond year 1989. It includes some major artists which the series already discovered, and some new additions too, ranging from The Rolling Stones to Cheap Trick. The logo is something i can't come up with, but it should be around same style as Liberty Rock Radio and Los Santos Rock Radio, with dominant red, or maybe pink color.

A radio station similar to Radio Del Mundo would be nice including songs from, not only southern Asia, but all the world. It could be pop, it could be folk, but they have to have a melody, a rhythm from that specific country.

Another typical hard rock/heavy metal station, but with softer songs.

All I Need by Within Temptation

Ghost in the Moon by Avantasia

The Arms of Sorrow by Killswitch Engage

Ressurection By Erection by Powerwolf

Haunted by Disturbed

Reign of Terror by Rhapsody of Fire

Any song by Death tbh

In Waves by Trivium

Any song by Christopher Lee

Wishmaster by Nightwish

Rorke's Drift by Sabaton

Heroes of Mighty Magic by Twilight Force

Also if we have a Vice City setting again we need a proper Latin radio station. East Los FM 106.2 was lackluster, and Miami in real life is majority Hispanic/Latino.

We also need some ambient/chillwave and lo-fi/liquid beats. Oh yes, and also house/trance.
