Dumb question

My PC is acting up and I was considering buying it for PS4 but I was curious if all my Online stuff will be there on PS4 too?   I have R* account linked to my PS4 account.

Unfortunately progress does not transfer between platforms, you would have to start again on the new platform.

Unless you transferred before the cutoff, no none of your pc progress will be on ps4. Even if you transferred then, you'd only have what progress you made four years ago.

I don't think it ever worked from PC to PS4 anyway? Only PS4 (or XB1) to PC.

You'd have to start over on a new platform, where data for GTA Online will be stored on their respective networks. (eg. PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Social Club for PC data)

 

Things like photos and other statistics uploaded to Social Club will likely remain on the site under that platform's own category, but it's character and progress data you'll have to build up again.

I'm pretty sure at one point you could go from pc to console and transfer what you had if you started on pc or if you went from ps3 > pc > ps4. Maybe you couldn't though, I don't really remember how transfers worked.

Yeah I could be wrong, but didn't think they ever allowed PC to console because of hackers on PC (might have allowed it for a very short time) Either way, it stopped a few years back.

Not a dumb question at all, especially if you started playing after 2017.

Somewhere at the end of 2017, Rockstar disabled the transfer feature.

Before that, you could do one-way transfers from Xbox360 / PS3 (old gen) to PS4 / Xbox One (current gen), or from any console to PC. (not from PC to console)

 

As it is now, you'll have to start again on PS4. There is no way to transfer PC characters to console, never was, never will be.

Maybe when the Expanded And Enhanced version for next gen (PS5 / Xbox Series S/X) comes out, there will be a window to transfer from current to next gen consoles, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Rockstar doesn't want modded accounts on next gen, which is also why they shut down transfers back in 2017. And of course, it won't be possible to transfer from PC to next gen.
