Mr Philips The Gey
This is one thing that has always been on my nerves, these GTA youtubers can't seem to refer to GTA Online properly, the last GTA youtuber I know who refers to GTA O properly is SpeirsTheAmazingHD. Seriously, GTA Online is the Multiplayer GTA running on the GTA 5 platform, but that doesn't mean that it's GTA 5 itself, it's GTA Online. GTA 5 Online doesn't make sense either, because no one from Rockstar calls it that, neither do they refer as it to GTA 5 from any of the announcements or trailers. billiejoearmstrong8
Because it's the online version of GTA V. Like yeah GTA Online is the more correct title but it's pretty obvious why it would be referred to as that and I don't know why it would bother anyone. It doesn't even stop just at the level of Rockstar breaking their promises, when they decided not to code story or other DLC. It's even worse than that. Take2 or Rockstar, whoever made this decision, also purposely withheld 7+ years of awesome, amazing, incredible content from SP that is already in online. This isn't laziness, either. That I could almost excuse. Kind of like your complaint in another thread about the rare mission in V feeling like the player is forced on a rail and if you go off, you fail. Because it's rare enough, that s**t doesn't bother me much. It sort of is what it is even though your complaint there is valid. But this is completely different. It is nothing nothing but a dishonest, unscrupulous way of trying to bully players to go online, where they are in a target rich environment for what Take2 hopes will be frustration, leading to impatience, leading to Shark Card sales. This is the worst part of GTA V if I am honest. Almost all the other complaints about the game I can forgive very easily, or even overlook as kind of minutia or ephemera, but this is nothing but feckless, corporate thuggery. I am REALLY seeing it in action, too. I just started another SP campaign on my PS4 the other day. But this is after spending God only knows how many hours in GTAO for the past 8 months and loving it! But I won't lie. As much as I love the SP to this day, after being online for 8 months with the game, the SP feels great, sure, but also a little unsatisfying in that I want at least some of those Online toys! Maybe not all of them. I get why some things have to be reserved for Online exclusively, but even things like the Interaction Menu in SP are practically naked compared to the menu Online. billiejoearmstrong8
All that has nothing to do with why people call it GTA V Online etc though. It's literally just because it's the online version of GTA V. If GTA IV's online mode had been called GTA Online some people would've called it GTA IV/GTA IV Online too. When GTA VI comes out whatever the online version is called some people will call it GTA VI/GTA VI Online. It's not that deep. Also the only reason anyone is bothered by this is because they don't like GTA Online and don't want GTA V associated with it (which is ridiculous because they're fully associated regardless of names). People who do like GTA Online don't see it that way, they don't see associating V with O as some kind of insult so they don't care if the precise correct terminology is used to refer to a game.
