Not really, the only promise that Rockstar didn't keep AFAIK is the single player DLC for GTA V. Other than that they've never said something they didn't do eventually.

Yeah. Can't believe anything they say after they've abandoned everything they talked about in the beginning.

You must have never heard all the things they were talking about in the beginning. Even things in the opening story, like horse fences, have not been followed up on. Another thing they have not done is the progression of RDO via back and forth between players and R*. They have not followed through on many things.

Those were general ideas that the developers came up with in an interview, not actual announcements (if I'm not mistaken). Agree on the last one

Traders moving to stores in towns. Bounty hunters becoming lawmen, etc.

 

It doesn't have to be a formal announcement. They talked about their plans. If they weren't going to actually do it then why mention it. They had to know if they didn't follow through there would be a backlash.

 

The back and forth was definitely a statement they made on how RDO was going to proceed. That has never happened. They just keep plodding down the dead end road they drew out ignoring most player feedback and wishes.

 

Instead of actually implementing NEW things, they decided to attract new players and continue adding rehashed stuff which would come across as new to new players. Nothing "new" has come along in quite a while. As an example naturalist wasn't new, per se. We have all done a lot of hunting already. That's all naturalist is. I guess taking pictures of them was new but how many players ever asked for or wanted that or get excited at the prospect of logging in to take pictures?

 

Added bounties, just more bounty hunting.

 

Etc, etc, etc

 

I would think a major game developer would have more imagination than this bunch does but some people have suggested R* has their B team working on RDO. I hope their A team is a lot better.

 

But you know, someone can earn your trust for years and years, but all it takes is for them to do one thing to destroy it, at least for me. R* destroyed the trust/faith I had in them long ago. They have proven to me they are not acting in good faith and really don't care what players think.

 

Their words mean nothing to me anymore. Only action.

Haha, it was a joke, I wasn't refering to R* and their promises in my first line.

 

I was expressing my low expectations due to guys in general seem to overestimate size and I've experienced that size, and also stamina, plays a huge part in the amount of  pleasure I get...
